How to Regulate Kids: A Quick-Reference Guide for Parents & Caregivers
Hey calm-seekers 💛I’m so excited to share what’s on the way for our Calm & Connected Parenting Lab — a brand-new printable Regulation Cheat Sheet that breaks down exactly how to help kids calm their bodies and brains (from toddlers all the way to tweens). Here’s what’s inside:✨ Simple brain science — why a three-year-old’s prefrontal cortex isn’t fully formed (and what that means when they “lose it”)✨ A quick guide to co-regulation — because kids borrow our calm before they can create their own✨ Age-based strategies — toddler | child | tween breakdowns for what actually works✨ Everyday tools — body, breath, connection, and environment supports for real-life moments It’s trauma-informed, neuroscience-backed, and made for real parents — the kind who are healing, learning, and showing up with love even when it’s hard. 🌿 💬 What’s next: Later this week I’ll be dropping a short video lesson walking you through the guide — including how to recognize when your child’s amygdala is in charge, and what to do to bring their (and your) nervous system back online. If you’ve ever thought, “Why won’t they just calm down?” or “What do I do when they’re melting down?” — this is for you. Stay tuned, my friends. You’re building resilient brains — one co-regulated moment at a time. 💪💛

10 Things I Wish I’d Known About Parenting
If you’re new here, start with this:“10 Things I Wish I’d Known About Parenting (Before I Learned the Brain Science)” These are the shifts I didn’t learn from books or advice or trial-and-error —I learned them the hard way, after years of dysregulation, frustration, and repeating patterns that weren’t working. This community exists so you don’t have to do it the hard way. Read through the list slowly. Notice which one hits your nervous system the most. That is your starting point. You are not late. You are not broken. You are not behind. You are here — and that is the turning point.

Ugh! this post hit hard truths for me 😖 The 1 that really landed for me is healing while trying to parent, which is the hardest thing I've done! I love my daughter Soo much, she is my world and when I make a mistake in parenting her that is out of alignment with how I wish to parent I often replay the scenerio and have major mom guilt because I have consumed so much free parenting advice, workshops, summits and beat myself up because somehow I default to threatening to take things away and feeling the need to be in control and "listened too" because I'm aware of the fact that I've never felt heard and felt so out of control in my life 😓 I'm also aware of the fact that I am trying hard, but my Nervous System has become so dysregulated from past and current trauma. So reading this post that it's not too late and I am not broken is something I need to hear because it gives me hope! I often question if I messed up my daughter already and she is only 4

Thank you soo much! Your reassuring words truly mean the world to me! 🙏 That is my goal on my parenting journey to be a cycle breaker with my child. I don't give myself enough credit for the awareness that I have or when I repair with my daughter. It's comforting to hear that even when I make mistakes, I'm still on the path to healing and am learning along side my daughter 💞
🎉 Big news, friends — I just posted my very first video presentation! 🎥
Okay, deep breath… whoop whoop! I’m so excited (and only mildly terrified 😅) to share my very first class: ✨ Building Routines for Safety, Connection & Regulation ✨ This one’s close to my heart — because routines aren’t just about bedtime charts or brushing teeth (though those help!). They’re about creating predictability, safety, and connection — for our kids and for us. If you’ve ever thought, “I’m too tired for another new strategy,” or “our mornings are chaos,” this one’s for you. It’s real, it’s brain-based, and it’s doable — even if you’re running on caffeine and hope. ☕💛 💬 In this video, we talk about: - Why predictability calms the brain 🧠 - How to start small (really small) - What to do when things fall apart (spoiler: it’s not failure, it’s feedback) - And how connection is the secret ingredient to every great routine Go check it out, give it a watch, and tell me your biggest “aha!” moment in the comments. Here’s to calmer mornings, smoother bedtimes, and homes that feel just a little more peaceful. 🌿Because you deserve that. Your kids do, too. 💛 #Parenting #Connection #BrainScience #ThatParentingCoach

You Don’t Have to Do This Alone Anymore
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here This space was created for parents, grandparents, and caregivers who want to do things differently — with more calm, connection, and nervous-system safety at home. You can’t always change every situation or every behavior, but you can change how it feels — and you don’t have to do that alone anymore. Inside this community you can expect: • brain-based parenting strategies you can actually use • nervous system tools for you (so you can regulate them) • live classes & resources coming soon • a no-judgment, no-shame environment • support from someone who teaches this every day in real life If you want to connect with me elsewhere, you can also find me on: • YouTube — That Parenting Coach & The Craft of Wellness • Instagram — @That_ParentingCoach & @The_Craft_Of_Wellness • Facebook — That Parenting Coach & The Craft of Wellness This is the beginning of something new — and I’m so excited you’re here as it grows. Welcome to the Calm & Connected Parenting Lab.

Thank you so much! 💓 It truly shows that you want to help support parents, help them find their village and help on their parenting journey. Your big heart is much appreciated 🙏
We Have Our First Members! 🎉
This community is officially happening — and I’m so glad you’re here at the beginning. Before we build forward, I’d love to know who is in the room. When you’re ready, introduce yourself by sharing: 1) Where in the world you’re located (just general location — curious who we’re beside on the map) 2) Tell us about the little human(s) you’re raising. Share who they are in their essence — the parts of them that make them them (think: bold, sensitive, observant, hilarious, imaginative, persistent, old soul, etc.) 3) One thing you’re hoping to get from this community(support, strategy, connection, nervous system tools, accountability, etc.) No pressure to share deeply — just whatever feels right to begin. Can’t wait to meet you and grow this space together. 💛

Hi my name is Amy I'm from California, I'm a single mama to my 4 yr old little girl named Everly. She is full of personality, silly, strong, stubborn, curious, observant and helpful. What I'm hoping to get out of this community is support, as a single mom I don't have support in raising my daughter. I'm also very interested in learning more tips on nervous system regulation. I'm looking forward to learning and growing in this community 💓
