In most cases, this happens more because of feed structure, especially titles and product attributes leaning too heavily on brand terms instead of clear product-intent keywords. When that happens, Google struggles to match you against true competitor searches.That said, PMax and bidding strategy can amplify the issue if signals and asset groups aren’t well segmented. Ideally, the feed should be optimized first titles, GTINs, categories, then PMax or Shopping bids aligned to push intent-driven queries.
