⭐ Life is Heavy Right Now. Let’s Talk About It
Let’s be real and completely open here. Life is fucking hard at the moment. No one seems to like anyone. You can’t have an opinion without pissing someone off and then fearing what that will cause. AI is going to change the entire world and our careers and we have no idea what it will look like or if our careers are safe. Parenting is harder than ever. My 11 year old desperately wants her own phone and we’ve said no. All her friends have one and I have no idea if our decision is right. We got the train in England last week. Same train ride I used to do as a kid when I went to school. It was fucking silent. About 20 kids all sat on their phones and not talking. This makes me feel old but when I was that age we were loud as fuck on those trains. Having a laugh and probably being obnoxious pricks. But not now. AI is probably the most consequential invention or whatever since the internet. It’s going to revolutionize the world in both good and bad ways. Now we see companies laying people off left right and centre. We see billions being spent on AI and technology research and tools. And what does it mean for us as parents with careers? We are trying to raise kids in an age where technology addiction is the new porn addiction. Dopamine hit after dopamine hit fucking up their minds with unrealistic shit. Making them less human and less empathetic. Whilst we try and manage through that. On top of keeping our marriages and relationships alive. On top of keeping the roof on our heads and our income up. In spite of everything being way more expensive than any pay increases we may get. On top of uncertain careers where we have no clue what AI, the economy, the political landscapes and everything else has in store for us. This isn’t some woe is us bullshit and things used to be difficult for our parents and grandparents. I have no idea if it was and in many ways who cares. That doesn’t help the now. The now is us crying out for help but fearing judgement if we do it. The now is thinking everyone is living their best life with their fancy cars and huge houses and loads of vacations.

Dream jobs and reality checks
9 hours on a plane. 1 hour of sleep. Now officially running on tea and I’ve no idea what else. Somewhere between drifting off and turbulence, I started thinking about this: When you were younger, what did you dream of doing for a career and how different is that from what you’re doing now? Drop yours below 👇 I have a feeling a lot of us took some pretty unexpected turns.

Monday Intentions🚦
Most people start the week with a to-do list. But what about a not-to-do list? 👉 What’s one thing you are not going to do this week?

I’m going to try to not work at night atleast 2 nights this week, and do something I want to do that isn’t rooted in productivity

Sunday reset vibes ☕️
The kids are (finally) winding down, the kettle’s on, and I’m staring at a pretty manic, but exciting, week ahead. How about you? 👉 How are you feeling this Sunday evening? 👉 Do you have any little routines or rituals that help you gear up for the week? Sometimes it’s the small things like a cup of tea, a walk, or even laying out the kids’ clothes that make Monday feel a little less wild.

Sundays are laundry / cleaning days in our house, we all help out so it makes it less overwhelming for us all. reseting the house really helps set the tone for the week. I feel like this year we have really been more intentional and present. idk feels like we have been in a fog for a while (a few years really) and we are finally come back to life with just making more intentional choices in what we give our time too. hope everyone has an awesome week!
