Author Bio, Is It Important?
Many of us writers, when we think about working on our author bio, we tend to put it off. Or we put something together that doesn’t fully reflect who we are. This is a great way to get readers to turn away from your book! 📕 You want to have your personality shine while showing your accomplishments. 🥇 You want to give a feeling of who the person is behind your book, and you can do that by having a nice professional bio! So, to answer the question: Is an Author Bio Important? Yes! The author bio is something that you will use on more than your book. You can use it on Goodreads, Amazon and on speaking events. This is yet another reason why it pays off having a memorable bio. If you’re wanting help with getting a customized bio, then dm me, or comment “bio”. It’s time for that next level up!

@Dani Rosenblad James this is such an important call-out, and you’re right on the money! An author bio isn’t “extra,” it’s often the first handshake people have with you. Before they read the book. Before they trust the message. Before they decide if they want more of you. A strong bio does something subtle but powerful: it helps people see you, feel you, and decide, “Ah. This is my person.” That’s the beginning of being remembered. And you’re also spot on that it’s not just for the book. It becomes a cornerstone across platforms, stages, and conversations. When it’s done well, it quietly does a lot of heavy lifting. Really love how you framed this, and how you’re inviting people to step into that next level with intention.

@Dani Rosenblad James Neil Gaiman used to hold the crown for me. His collaboration with Terry Pratchett on Good Omens is still one of my all-time favorites. The wit. The chaos. The brilliance. But when someone’s true nature and values show up in ways that don’t align… well, I’ll take my fandom elsewhere. These days, I’m more captivated by Adam Grant. His work isn’t just smart, it’s catalytic. He makes you think differently, lead differently, be differently. Every book is a mirror and a match, reflection and ignition. @Dani Rosenblad James who’s got you rethinking what’s possible lately?

@Dani Rosenblad James I totally get that. Rowling built a world that pulled a whole generation into magic. That kind of imagination is rare. But for me, once someone’s real values surface and they clash that hard with mine, the spell breaks. The work can still be brilliant, but the pedestal gets torched. That’s the beauty of what YOU are doing though. Writing stories that expand people and stay aligned with who you are. That’s where true power lives, not just in the words, but in the integrity behind them.

@Shirley-Louise Daniels oh wow... now THAT is something to experience, and then write all about it. Just the idea of hearing "Heroes" in a large park like that gives me chills. Enjoy the heck out of it!
Creative Workspace PEEK! 👀
So, I'm a curious person! I like to learn more about others and a great way to learn more about someone is to see what their workspace looks like! This would be the place that you use most often when it comes to working on your book. It could be a place on a couch, in a kitchen, or in an office space. Even in a public place that has turned into your writing sanctuary. The place that you have chosen should help you get into the flow of writing. It should be a place that you feel safe and you can open up. Now, not everyday is easy to write, I get that! But it's good to have a place that you use frequently to help trigger your brain to know when you get into this spot, it's writing time! ✍️ To make it easier to turn writing into a routine, start doing this the same time daily or specific days out of the week! It takes about 21 days to create a habit! So, stay consistent and it will become easier to get into the flow of writing! ✍️ You can do it! 👍 Okay, let's get back to our writing space. Please share a picture of your writing place! I want to see and I bet others do too! Plus, doing this is something that you can do on social media as well to pique the interest of your audience. They'll be curious to learn what you are writing! ✍️ It's a win-win when you share a pic of your writing spot!! Below are my pics of my space! Let's see yours too!

@Sierra Melcher yeah that tracks. Sounds like the perfect puppy mix :) Wait... explain the hummingbird? Is that because she's invasive or a sucker for treats?
What's Your Opinion on This Book Title? 📕
So, as many of you know, I'm working on my second book of a series that's loosely based on my life. Now, they are going to be known as The Wandering Heart book series. ❤️ I'm just a little stumped on coming up with a title for this one. I'm thinking, The Wandering Heart: Family Roots Mended from the Ground Up 🔥🔥🔥 Don't not sure! What do you ALL think? 😅 Thanks for all the help!!

@Dani Rosenblad James congrats on writing a potential title! Without knowing more about what you were trying to accomplish with the book, and the nature of the book, what you want the reader to feel, etc... it's hard to judge the title. That said, my next question for you is: Where are YOU & YOUR BRAND in that title? How can I tell that book is yours rather than from anyone else? And then... all the other context would still help craft your title. :)
