😲This morning, I had a bit of an epiphany.......
As I was standing in front of the mirror applying my daily work warpaint, I noticed something very disturbing. While filling in the sparse landscape most people generously refer to as my eyebrows, something caught my attention... Something was missing. When I was about 10 years old, my younger brother decided it would be a fantastic idea to throw a flat, oval rock he found in my grandmother's backyard directly at my face. Thankfully, he missed my eye, but not by much. The rock slammed into my eye socket, bled for what felt like forever, and left behind a small raised scar hidden within my already sparse eyebrow hairs. For decades, every time I filled in my eyebrows, I covered that scar. Not only to make my brows look less like they were experiencing a recession, but also to hide that little reminder of my brother's poor life choices. This morning, it hit me... The scar was gone. 😮 Gone. After more than 40 years. Naturally, my inner lab technician immediately went into full investigative mode. I started hunting down every scar I could remember. The nickel-sized raised scar on my inner elbow that I've had since I was 16? Gone. My laparoscopic gallbladder surgery scars? Gone. My C-section and subsequent tummy tuck scar? Barely a trace. The little scars on my left hand from accidentally cutting myself instead of a client's hair over the years? Gone. The scar on my hand from my trapeziectomy a few years ago? Still there, but noticeably flatter, smoother, and far less prominent. At this point, I'm standing in front of the mirror asking myself: "What in the actual world is happening?" Then it dawned on me. Peptides. Of course. But which one? I'm pretty sure I know the answer. KLOW. More specifically, GHK-Cu. For those unfamiliar, KLOW contains KPV, GHK-Cu, BPC-157, and TB-500. All four are known for their roles in tissue repair, inflammation modulation, and healing, but if I had to place a bet on which ingredient deserves the spotlight here, my money is on GHK-Cu.
