18th Century - Historical Costume Styles 👗✂️
The 18th century was a whirlwind of silhouette shift, from the structured grandeur of the early Rococo to the breezy, post-revolutionary lines of the late 1700s. 👗✂️ As we dive into Panniers & Powder at The Atelier Hub, we want to know: which decade captures your maker’s heart? Are you all about the architectural wonder of mid-century Panniers, or does the effortless drape of a 1790s Chemise de la Reine call to your sewing machine? Tell us your favourite 18th-century decade in the comments! Later this weekend, I'm going to be sharing a Deadly Liaisons Costume I designed and made, can't wait to share and if you have a sewing make, we would love it up on our Studio Wall 🖼️ Claire Amelia 🪡

I love this era of costume too. I am working on making dresses from this era in miniature for my dollshouse. I love the Robe a la francaise but I haven't been able to make one yet that hasn't ended up in the bin!! The pleating at the back is a bit fiddly when it is in miniature, still I will get there!! Wigs with ships on, how crazy was that!! Fabulous though. Talk about making an entrance. I haven't seen The Great, sounds like one to watch, but I have seen the series Harlots which had some amazing costumes. Looking forward in seeing your makes Claire.
