📣 The 30-Day Aerials Intensive starts Thursday. Who’s in?
You asked, so we’re doing it. 💥 When I posted about aerials in here a while back, a lot of you put your hands up, and I’ve had messages ever since asking when it’s happening. The last time we did an aerials challenge together was back in 2021. It’s time. The 30-Day Aerials Intensive starts this Thursday, October 22. 💥🔥🤩 For 30 days, we’re working through the ADTA 4-Step System for teaching side aerials together, one step at a time. Here’s how it works: → A new lesson drops every Thursday. → You learn the step, then teach it in your own class that week. → You come back and tell us how it went: what worked, what didn’t, and what you saw. → You post your questions and student videos, so we all learn from what’s happening in real classes. Each lesson comes with clear instructions on how to run it in class, so you’ll know exactly what to do when you walk in. One thing up front: your students won’t have aerials in 30 days, and that’s not the goal. The goal is that you finish knowing exactly what to teach, in what order, and how to spot what’s going wrong. That’s what gets them there. More details are coming over the next few days. For now, I just want to know who’s in?! 💪🤓🤸‍♀️ 👇 Comment “I’m in” below, and tell me what's your biggest challenge or frustration with your aerials right now? See you Thursday! Miss Melissa

Awesome! This is so exciting!
Weird pain in Front Walkover?
A student working on FWO keeps tucking her chin when recovering. Causing all kinds of chaos. The usual cues are not working - chin up last, look at fingers etc. > Next week I want to check what she looks like in a bridge devellope. Im speculating shes a tight shoulder girly and weight is transferring incorrectly. It was definitely a wonky attempt - but she voiced discomfort over her whole front - chest & stomach when performing recovery. NO pain for bridge recover or any other skill/drill. Head scratcher 🧐 Ive never heard a student say this before? Should this be a concern? Thoughts? I think Im on the right track how to fix - Im just not super keen on letting her practice or attempt, if this sounds concerning. Advice appreciated!

We talked about this a bit today, let me know how it progresses! Hopefully some more time, stretching, and getting back into it will alleviate the discomfort and allow you to keep working on the head placement. If the pain persists, or becomes worse, consulting a doctor or physio is always a good idea!
Upper flex - top 3 drills?
Hi Acro Fam ❤️ Happy dance season. I have 2 classes of TIGHT upper backs. Usual things. - Arms not by ears Acro 5th down to bridge - Arms usually wide in bridges, cant stack shoulders If you could only choose 3 exercises to support this correction - what would you choose? Stretch - strength - other. Planning additions to warmup, but I have too many ideas for the class time allotment 😝. We have a good variety of equipment (circle bands, yoga blocks etc). Top 3 will be very helpful sorting thoughts out. Thank you!!

I would do: 1.Elbows on the barre hands together, pressing armpits to the floor 2. hands on the wall straight arms overhead, pushing arms/armpits to wall, chin up. Think puppy pose, but standing. 3.Bridge position rocking into the hands, back and forth. Maybe elevating the hands and/or feet to help them get moving in that bridge even more.
What's the one thing you'd fix in your teaching first?
The replay came down last night. If you watched it, thank you... that was a really great room! Here's what I keep thinking about since the workshop... Nearly every question I got came down to the same thing wearing different clothes. Not "how do I teach a back walkover." More like "how do I know I'm not missing something." So I want to ask you straight, and I'd love an actual answer in the comments. If you could fix one thing in your teaching before September, what would it be? Maybe it's the mixed-level class that unravels at the same point every week. Maybe it's spotting something you've never felt confident spotting. Maybe it's that you've got no idea what should come next after the skill they just got. Tell me. And if what you'd fix is "all of it, I want a real system"... registration for Junior Certification inside The Acro Circle closes this Friday at 5:00 PM MDT. We meet on the welcome call Monday the 10th and your first Junior class with your coach is Tuesday the 11th. Free 7 days to look around first. 👉 theacrocircle.com Miss Melissa

It was a great workshop! Excited to begin the upcoming year, working on getting all my plans in place to start the year on the right foot! Thank-you!
👉 Roll Over Bridge (Tinsica's) - The 4-Step's I Use to Build Them Out
Let's talk about the Roll Over Bridge (rolling Tinsica) — one of the trickier skills to teach well. Here's the thing most teachers run into — they start their students from standing. The problem? Standing up tends to make their legs go up too high, and they end up looking more like a cartwheel than a bridge. So in this teacher tutorial I show you how to teach it from the knees instead. Knee to knee is actually harder than foot to foot — but it's the position students NEED to learn to find that arched-back bridge shape. I take my student Lauren through all four steps: ✅ Step 1 — Bridge Inside Out ✅ Step 2 — Jumping into the Bridge ✅ Step 3 — Dart out the first leg out going into the Bridge ✅ Step 4 — Put it together: Go for it! (not landing in the Bridge) 📌 Before you even start this progression — check the bridge inside out. If your student can't do a linear bridge inside out, they will struggle with roll over bridge. That's your prerequisite. 📌 Watch the legs. Bent, relaxed legs put so much pressure on the low back. We want them straight and strong. 📌 And shoulders over wrists — always. This is a bridge, not a handstand. If your student doesn't have the shoulder flexibility for a proper bridge, they won't get this trick. Take a look and let me know which step your students tend to get stuck on — I'd love to hear how it's going in your classes!

This is such a tricky skill, but so lovely when they get it!
