I agree, Marilyn - I love the gentle, judgement-free community you've created here. ❤️ I was a vegetarian for 15 years, then went back to eating animals because my husband wasn't vegetarian, and it was just 'easier'. After 15 years of eating animal products, I'm now fully vegan, and my only regret is not doing it sooner. I've been slowly making changes for my health over the past few years - I gave up alcohol and caffeine nearly 4 years ago, and lost 60 lbs. But 10 lbs crept back on, so I was looking for some changes I could make to improve my health. I started watching plant-based documentaries (like Forks Over Knives, What the Health, Game Changers, etc). Then I watched some of the documentaries about the meat & dairy industries (Earthlings, Dominion, Dairy is Scary, etc), and that sealed the deal. I knew I had to go plant-based not just for my own health, but for the animals, too. The animals are what keep me accountable now. I find the more raw foods I eat, the more energy I have, so I'm working on increasing how much raw I eat. I eat mostly fruit all day, then for dinner I make a big salad, along with a cooked, plant-based dinner.
