Whoopsies...
Life handed me an unexpected lesson in my own medicine this week. After yoga class, I fell riding home and broke and twisted my pinky finger. I'm now in a fairly dramatic hand brace, and I've got a specialist visit next week — fingers crossed (the ones that still bend) that we can avoid a full cast. So here's the irony I'm sitting with: I teach rest and restoration for a living, and now my body is asking me to actually practice it. I'm leaning on Yoga Nidra to help my nervous system settle, support the healing, and keep me company through the discomfort. It's humbling and kind of beautiful to be on the receiving end of the work. A practical note: Tidal Hearts Yoga Nidra won't release tonight as planned. The fall caused some technical difficulties on my end, so I'm giving it the time it needs to come out right. Thank you for your patience. If you've got a prayer or a good thought to spare, I'll happily take it. 🙏

oohhh ayla 🥺 the way you always manage to glow even when you're moving through the depths. Thinking of you and sending healing prayers. I was stunned at all the synchronicities you shared! 🙏✨ here's to slowing down 🤍

@Ayla Nova you are the sweetest! 🚂🫶
She came in for sleep. She found a community.
I want to celebrate a moment that happens in this community all the time... and deserves to be seen. One of our members shared this recently, and I keep coming back to it: "I wasn't expecting to walk away with a community. I think it surprised me that I found a community, not just a class." That's you, by the way. You are who she found. Every time you show up in the comments, every breakout session you lean into (during our Live Sessions/Next one: June 11), every honest share... you are the reason this community is what it is. So on this Saturday — thank you for being here. For being open. For being real. What's one thing you're carrying into this weekend that this community has given you?

Brief Powerful Meditation
WONDERFUL MOMENT Meditation by Thich Nhat Hanh 1) Find a comfortable posture: Sit with a straight but relaxed spine, or stand with your feet flat on the ground. 2)Take a full breath: Gently breathe in through your nose, letting your belly soften and rise. 2) Synchronize your breath with the verse: As you breathe, silently recite (or think) the following lines: • Inhale: "Breathing in, I calm my body." • Exhale: "Breathing out, I smile." • Inhale: "Dwelling in the present moment." • Exhale: "I know this is a wonderful moment." 3) Repeat: Go through this cycle a few times. Allow the physical act of smiling to relax the muscles in your face and release built-up tension.

Thank you for this! I love simple, snack-sized practices like this. 🙏 Will definitely come back to it again.

"I feel everything. Sometimes before I even know what I'm feeling, my body already knows." If that's you, I want you to know... this isn't too much. Watch Replay In the yogic tradition, just beneath the body layer sits the Pranamaya Kosha — the energy body. This is the layer of breath, of emotional current, of feeling. When this layer is in flow, emotions move through us like water. When it's out of balance, the waves arrive without warning, other people's energy lingers long after they've left the room, and we can swing between feeling everything and feeling nothing at all. This is the state of the 🌊Tidal Heart... someone whose emotional body is asking for a container, not a fix. This is the second of the five states I've been mapping, and it's actually the rarest — only about 3% of people land here. Which makes sense, because when emotions are this loud, everything else tends to get drowned out first. You may have been told you're too sensitive. That you need better boundaries. That you should just toughen up. But boundaries alone don't always work... the world doesn't always honour them. What actually helps is learning that your depth isn't the problem. It never needed fixing. It needed somewhere to goooooo. WHAT UNDERSTANDING THIS CAN OPEN UP FOR YOU When you recognize yourself here, something begins to soften. You stop bracing against your own emotions and start learning to move with them. The breath becomes a bridge... connecting the rawness of feeling to the steadiness of the body underneath it. Slowly, the river stops feeling like a flood. You realize: I am not the wave. I am the water. To learn more, join our VIP Supporters and gain access to our LIVE Tidal Hearts Experience. We're moving into the energy layer, and I'll walk you through what it means to let your emotions flow through you instead of carrying them alone. Gently. With a practice to bring you back to rest and community.

Day 1 — Deep inner peace
Welcome to Day 1 of the Nova Nidra Rest & Restore Series. You made it here, and that is always the first step in any journey... showing up! Today is about one thing: safety. Not solving anything. Just letting your nervous system remember what it feels like to be okay. Take a breath before you open today's practice. You don't have to earn this rest. SHARE BELOW | Drop a word or a few sentences below — how did your body feel at the start vs. the end of today's practice?

Going in my brain was scattered and I was focused on anything but the now, to after I felt so relaxed and at peace. Not thinking of anything in particular. Just present 🌫️
