Z Axis problem
hello, I'm new here but im CNC enthusiast, i'm doing cutting board wood inlay (broinwood style but not as nice ^^) i also just purchased a P2S Xtool CO2 laser :) But i'm here because I have a TEN-HIGH 6090 CNC milling machine... chinese brand :( and when i move the router up-down with the keyboard it "randomly" go up or down with a random up-down movement. for example if i try to go up it will start to go down for 1/4 sec and then go up. or just go the opposite way. anyone have an idea where it could come from ? stepper motor? controller? mach3 settings ? Should i try to replace the stepper motor of the Zaxis with one from the x or y to see if the same problem happen ? or any suggestion? thank you so much for whoever gonna take time to help!

just so far i think i fixed the problem, i searched a bit and found out that random changing of turn side of a stepper motor can happen if the wire are half broken or there a mis contact somewhere. which was the case on my machine! repaired it and seems working like a charm now!! :D

- Hey! I'm Alexandre, I'm French but expat in Taiwan (Taiwanese wife) and i have to little boys. - I already made many project with my CNC (mostly cutting board with wood inlay (broinwood style) and also some other things like breaking bits and destroying projects. I recently purchased a CO2 laser (P2S Xtool) - I'd like to know more technical stuff to make the use of my CNC more smooth. i learned by myself and i know i'm not using it efficiently. not even well i think - A fun fact about myself... i'm crypto retired, i bought bitcoin in 2013 and never sold it :)
