🎶Love hurts?
Love is an interesting experience and expression. We often throw "love" into the positive category. Is that true? How can "love" take on a less positive or even negative experience? Is it still "love" as an emotion or is it "love" as a situation? Is there anything else that might happen (judgements, interpretations, meanings, outcomes, expectations) that become more active? If so, is it still "love" that we're feeling, or is it something else?

First let me start by saying that I looove the topic! Then it might be useful to mention that I tend to define love as a feeling that lives in me, and the behaviours that come from that. I think love can hurt sometimes, for example when people we love pass away. I think it's precisely because we love them so much that their absence hurts. However, I would make a difference with the situation where we feel hurt because of someone's behaviour. If that behaviour is inappropriate, hurtful, disrespectful, irresponsible or just showing a lack of investment from the person, I would say that we are maybe not talking about love anymore... could be attachement, could be maybe lack of self love. From my own experience I would say you can love someone out of a bad behaviour. And oh boy did I try to overcompensate with the love I gave for people that just weren't as invested as I was into the relationship. 😅 And I think it can also happen in friendships, not only in romantic love.
