Leading indicators are early clues about where the market is heading. They help you position in advance of major moves, rather than react after they’ve happened. Take Jack and Leo for example. Jack and Leo are brothers. Both are farmers. Both want to grow the best crops and make a lot of money. One spring, Jack decides to wait. He said, “I’m not planting until I see the rain and feel the warmth. I need proof that it's a safe time to plant.” So Jack sat and waited. He watched the news, checked the forecast, and waited for the perfect conditions. When the rain finally came and the sun was shining, Jack ran out to the stores and began planting his seeds. But by then… The stores were low on fertilizer. The best soil had already been bought up. And all the pests were out in full force. Jack was too late... Leo, on the other hand, didn’t wait for perfect conditions. Leo anticipated the perfect conditions were coming by using Leading Indicators. He saw more birds flying around early in the season. He noticed the morning dew was heavier than usual. He heard frogs at night — a good sign of coming rain. He even saw his brother Jack's grass was growing faster than last week. After noticing the boxes of several leading indicators were being checked off, Leo began planting and buying supplies. He got the best fertilizer, bought the best soil and beat the pests to the dirt. And when the rain finally came, Leo's seeds were already in the ground. As a result, his crops grew faster than Jack's. He was the first in town to harvest. And we was the first at the farmers market to begin selling. And by the end of the season, Leo earned double what his brother Jack earned. Jack waited for lagging indicators. Leo acted on leading indicators: clues of what was about to happen. This is how bitcoin works too. If you wait until something is all over the news, you're too late. But if you watch for the leading indicators, you can act early, ride the wave, and reap the rewards.
