Controvercials on - Luminox Watch Atacama Field 1960 Black XL.1961
I am struggled with thoughts on whether to buy it or not. And canceled in the end. The Atacama's looks literally speak to my black heart and soul. However, the amount of negative reviews regarding quality control and the overall scratch resistance of the "Carbonox" case material convinced me to cancel the purchase. For this price tag results are just pathetic... litterally same as casio for 30 USD I ordered a carbon watch from a microbrand as a "time token" instead. Am I crazy and have I been staring into the abyss of the watch market for too long? looks like I will need to by DLC coated Breitling in the end any way. To have some thing that not loose a look and age well being daily used. G-shock is a King having ability to change and fix outside case obviosly, and looks like a new thanks to that. But I was seaching classic field watch look this time. P.S. And luminox even have kind of decent but budget quartz movement, not even seiko quartz inside... Time token have at least curiose sea gull mechanics (I would still swap it to sekio quartz though)...

@David Denham Jr shame that luminox droped the ball so hard on quality. I'm grow on my watches especially that one I like. If they would broke after two years it's a no no.
@David Denham Jr will do scratch test on the Time token, when they will arive. I have materials similiar to carbonox, so I will compare how durable they are.
Venezianico Bucintoro: Deal or No Deal?
Gentlemen, I’d like to get your thoughts on the Venezianico Bucintoro. Previously, my decision on whether or not to buy a watch came down to two decisions: a) price point b) looks. However, as my tastes have evolved, I know look at timepieces more critically, however, there is still so much I don’t know. Therefore, I’m soliciting your advice in this lovely chronograph made from a company I’ve never heard of. Is this worth the $2,285 price tag? The Venezianico Bucintoro.takes its name from the legendary ceremonial boat used by the Doge of Venice, reinterpreting the elegance of the Historical Regatta through watchmaking. Its design brings together speed, precision and tradition in a piece with a sporty character and refined presence. With a 42 mm case, domed sapphire crystal, 100-metre water resistance and a Japanese NE88 automatic chronograph movement with column wheel and vertical clutch, the Bucintoro is made for those looking for a technical watch without giving up the beauty of detail. A tribute to movement, water and time lived with style. https://www.google.com/search?q=Venezianico+Bucintoro.+reviews&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari&sei=jm1KapXlHti2qtsP0fXu0Ao#lfId=ChxjMe

Seiko5 and a question.
Greetings. Who can tell from experience how actually mechanical watches survived actual field? Or let's say just extensive shooting on the shooting range + daily workouts? Maintanence? Break's? Life span without damage/repairs?

The cheapest and at the same time most expensive watches for me. Got to hell and back with them.

Well... What can I say. If it would be my first watch I probably wouldn't by any one more. And not started collecting them at all XD For me it's pure perfection. P.S. It kind of freezing outside -35 C. That was the temperature of the parcel and the watch in ''postomat'' parcel dispencer macine. This watches don't care much obviosly.

Hi @Darren Poesel by the way. How actually reliable mechanical watches for the actual field duty? Or just extensive shooting. SEIKO 5 for example? Few years of service and then to be repaired or tossed out?
