A couple of weeks ago Claude Code launched "Remote Control" to stay on top of the OpenClaw-fication movement of how people want to work with AI but giving it commands in a messenger interface instead of going into a terminal or your computer. That same functionality is now rolling out to Claude Cowork!!! available on Pro and Max plans. So if you've been having an OpenClaw FOMO like I had in the past few weeks, we can now explore this way of working in a more secure and an already set-up Cowork ecosystem. Here's what this means in practice: You open Claude's mobile app. You tell Claude to pull data from a spreadsheet on your desktop, draft a memo, organize files, or build a presentation and upload to your Google Drive. Then you put your phone away and go live your life. Claude works on your actual computer using your local files, your connectors, your plugins and messages you when it's done. The key details: → It's called "Dispatch" inside Cowork → One persistent conversation thread that syncs between your phone and desktop → Claude retains context across tasks - no starting over every time → Works with everything you've already set up in Cowork (connectors, plugins, file access) → Rolling out to Max plans now, Pro plans starting tomorrow → Requires both Claude Desktop app + Claude mobile app A few limitations (it's a research preview): — Your desktop needs to stay awake with the app open — No notifications yet when tasks finish — Single thread only, no multi-thread management — No scheduled tasks in this thread (that's separate) I am really excited to start exploring and report back.
