I’m currently in London for a very exciting Artist’s Date… and tomorrow I’ll be filming from the beautiful Victoria and Albert Museum (the V&A!) I honestly cannot wait to take you with me. 🥳🎨🎨 There’s something about stepping into a museum with intention. Not rushing. Not ticking boxes. Just wandering, noticing, absorbing. I’ll be sharing what an Artist’s Date can look like inside a space like this the details, the textures, the quiet inspiration hiding in corners. This evening, Holly and I went for a little wander through London. A gentle mooch. A bit of shopping. Time together. And of course… I absolutely could not walk past Liberty London without popping in 🙈 You all know me. I went in “just to look” 🙈… and came out with beautiful paper. Because truly, is there anything more hopeful than fresh paper? The promise of it. The weight of it. The quiet possibility. Moments like this remind me why I love creative living so much. It’s not always the grand gestures sometimes it’s paper in a bag, a daughter by your side, and the buzz of London in the air.❤️ I’ll be filming tomorrow and sharing it with you soon. Next week’s artist date is a very exciting one… We’re off to London! It’s a four-hour train journey from where I am, so I’ll be staying for a couple of days — which means lots of adventure, wandering, noticing, and soaking things in. The main thing I’ll be filming is a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum (the V&A). For anyone who doesn’t know it, the V&A is a world-class museum dedicated to art, design, fashion, illustration, and creativity in all its forms and I’m actually a member, which feels very special. In particular, we’re going to see the Marie Antoinette exhibition 👑 But more than that, I want to show you what an artist date can look like inside a museum how to move slowly, what to notice, how to gather inspiration without pressure, and how to let spaces like this quietly fill your creative cup. If there’s anywhere you’d love me to visit, see, or linger a little longer while I’m there, let me know — I might just be able to wangle it into my itinerary 😉 The photo below is one I took a couple of years ago at St Pancras International and it already feels like the start of an adventure. My lovely Smidgen family, 💜 I just wanted to pop on and say I’m sorry that this week’s challenge isn’t up yet. It’s been a really busy few days, and if I’m honest, my body and mind have felt like the world is just a little too loud. When that happens, I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) that pushing through isn’t always the answer. So today I’m choosing to be a bit kinder to myself. To pause. To breathe. To lower the volume where I can. Smidgen of Calm was never meant to be about pressure 🫶🏻 it’s about listening, creating gently, and honouring where we are. So I’m practising what I teach.❤️ The good news though… my artwork for The Smidgen Post arrived today and I am so pleased with it. Holding it in my hands felt really special. All that quiet work, those thoughtful brushstrokes now turned into something tangible that will soon be travelling out into the world.🥳🥳🥳 Thank you for your patience and your kindness. This space means so much to me, and so do you. The challenge will be coming very soon just with a little more calm behind it 🤍🫶🏻

We had a super busy day and were both dog tired 😬😂 for those of you that are new here, Reggie is my dog he’s a 7 year old whippet 💜 he comes on a lot of adventures with me and is always super helpful when Iam painting 🙈😬🫠
