9 Months post Kidney Transplant 54F, Reoccurrent UTI (Klebseilla Pneumonia). Not going despite multiple doses of combination antibiotics. Has colonised the bladder. Caught Acinetobacter baumannii last week as well. BP Avg (130/90, Pulse 90) Creat (Was 2.8 last month, dropped to 1.8 recently) eGFR 30 Hb1Ac (normal 2 months ago, unable to recall exact number) Feeling anxious because no line of treatment seems to be working.

I am 9 months post kidney transplant & ever since my transplant, my entire medical team has been unable to help me get rid of reoccurent (now chronic/embedded) UTI. Several admissions, uncountable Antibiotics (IV & Tabs) but no result. Doctor says the bacteria is multi drug resistant (Klebsiella Pneumoniae) and now has made a colony in my bladder and can not be removed. It is always going to live with me and will be treated only when it’s symptomatic (fever). I keep getting classic UTI symptoms (burning, foamy urine) but no fever. This causes me immense stress & makes my journey of recovery difficult (both physically and mentally). I am always worried about the next attack or surprise of a new disease caused by the bug 😞
