Are you working Presidents Day or taking it off?
If you are working, what 3 goals do you have for your business this week?

I have been working today. My main goal was to book two new prospective clients a day. I have managed to book 3. My next two goals are to 1. Begin writing an SOP to organize my practice 2. Obtain 15 new people to reach out to for next week from networking events.

@David Jones I have a CRM to track who I call through work. My main source of reaching out at the beginning of this year is to try and reconnect with people I called on last year that didn't meet. I am also calling referrals given to me from clients. I definitely want to learn how to leverage LinkedIn more effectively.
Memorial Day Event
Hello Everyone, I want to organize a Veterans event for Memorial Day. My vision is to bring in different representatives from the VA and Veteran Charities to put veterans that attend in touch with the resources they may need. I also want to have veteran owned businesses in attendance as a way for them to get their name out to the community. I've identified the location but would appreciate any guidance or connections that you all have in the CT MA area as the location will be on the boarder of these two states.
A Plan Changes Everything
A business plan isn’t just for funding it’s a clarity tool that helps define your idea, audience, and finances, and prevents costly mistakes early on, so what part of building a business do you find most confusing right now?

@David Jones along with a business plan, this year I also took the time to set up goals I wanted to hit. I looked at my metrics from last year and created an annual goal. I took this and broke it down to a monthly and weekly metric to strive to hit. I am currently working on a short-term vision statement of how I will improve my business these next 6 months and how I will take quantifiable steps to achieve it.

Absolutely! I am a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual. I focus my practice on 3 main areas: Protection, Optimization, and Growth. I sit with clients to determine their personal, professional and financial goals. I do this both with individuals as well as businesses. In this first meeting I try to get a sense of what it is they are trying to achieve, what steps they have taken and what they are currently working with in terms of income, assets and liabilities. I evaluate risk needs. This is the insurance side of things as @David Jones has mentioned in a previous feed. I look at evaluating their investments, whether it is a retirement or an investment account to determine if it is being allocated efficiently for them. I also advise them on what steps to take to grow their assets to the desired goals they have. As a veteran I try my best to give other veterans the financial information that we never received when leaving the military. Things like rolling over your TSP into an IRA and continuing to contribute or how to change the allocation inside those accounts to be more efficient.

Hello everyone, my name is Aidan Marino. I was an intelligence specialist in the Navy for 6 years. I am now Working in financial advising. I have started my own practice with Northwestern Mutual, I work in personal and business financial planning. I am currently on the journey to become a CFP or Certified Financial Planner. One of the things I hope to do in my practice is help active duty service members and veterans achieve financial security and well being. In the Navy I was a fitness leader, I have always been passionate about physical, mental and spiritual health. However, I realized something was missing. To me the missing piece is financial health. I am also newly married and hoping to start a family this year. I am here to network with great people and be an asset to as many people as I can.

@David Jones I am sorry to hear that, I didn't know that NY Life operated like that towards veterans. Northwestern is very much the opposite. As an example, if you have VGLI through the VA they will permit you to convert that to permanent life insurance without having to go through a medical. Which can be a huge benefit to those veterans who would otherwise be disqualified from getting it to due to one medical issue or the other. If anyone wishes to know more please feel free to reach out.
