Iāve been realizing that figure drawing becomes much stronger when itās studied side-by-side with perspective. When you train both at the same time, you stop treating the figure like a flat shape on paper, and you start seeing it as an actual form moving through space. Perspective forces you to think about: - where the figure stands - how their weight sits on the ground plane - how limbs move toward or away from the viewer - how volumes wrap around the body And when you combine that with figure drawing, everything feels more solid, believable, and grounded. Youāre not just copying anatomyāyouāre placing a person inside a real environment. Thatās why I practice both simultaneously: it gives me a stronger sense of space, form, and depth every time I draw the figure.
