Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack: Modern Variation - Updated
This morning I played Black on a training app and was faced with what I later learned was the Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack. It was before breakfast, which didn't help, and I got into difficulties pretty quickly. General principles weren't helping me. With some analysis I learned some things. One crucial defensive move was not attacking a pawn with my knight, but attacking its next square. Another concept was not just kicking a bishop on the 6th rank once, but all the way back to rank 3. The only developed pieces for the winning Black game were the knights, until White castled kingside. Then the Black queen came out. After a knight and queen sacrifice, Black checkmated with rook, knight, and bishop. What's been your experience with the Nimzowitsch-Larsen Attack, especially as Black? I ask because my books I've checked don't mention it. Here's the pgn for Black winning [Site "Chess.com"] [Result "*"] 1. b3 e5 2. Bb2 Nc6 3. e3 Nf6 4. Bb5 Qe7 5. Ne2 a6 6. Bc4 d5 7. Bd3 d4 8.
