Your 'work ethic' is killing your team.
I spent years thinking I was just a 'high achiever' because I was the first one in and the last one to leave. I'd fix every mistake before my team even saw it. I thought I was helping. I wasn't. I was over-functioning. Most of us do this because it's how we're wired. Maybe you had to be the 'stable one' growing up or you learned early on that if you didn't do it, it wouldn't get done right. Your brain thinks if you stop holding everything, the whole world collapses. But here’s what actually happens when you over-function: • You burn out by 3 PM every Tuesday. • Your team gets lazy because they know you’ll fix their mess anyway. • You start low-key hating the people you’re supposed to be leading. The hardest part of leadership isn't the work. It's the discomfort of sitting on your hands and letting someone else figure it out. You have to decide what's actually yours to carry and what you’re just stealing from someone else’s growth. Are you an over-functioner? What’s the one thing you’re doing right now that someone else on your team should be handling? Drop it in the comments. For more Nervous System Tools check out Inner Authority Society

Stop calling yourself lazy I used to beat myself up for being 'lazy.' I'd wait until the absolute last second to start a project, let the stress build up until I couldn't breathe, and then pull an all-nighter to get it done. I thought I just lacked discipline. I told myself I needed to 'try harder' or find more motivation. But that wasn't the problem at all. I eventually realized my procrastination was actually a protection mechanism. My brain didn't see the task as a 'to-do.' It saw it as a threat. The pressure to be perfect and the fear of being judged made the work feel dangerous. So, my system did exactly what it was designed to do: it delayed. It shut down to keep me 'safe.' The big shift happened when I stopped pushing and started lowering the stakes. Now, instead of telling myself 'I have to finish this whole thing right now,' I just ask myself: 'What's one tiny, stupidly easy step I can take?' I don't worry about finishing. I don't worry about it being good. I just aim for 30 seconds of movement. Once my brain realizes nothing bad is happening, the flow actually starts to show up on its own. Being 'productive' got way easier once I stopped fighting my own biology. I'm curious though, what’s one thing you’ve been sitting on for weeks because it feels 'too big' to start? Drop it in the comments. Let's look at how to break it down. Free: Nervous System Checklist
My head used to be so loud I couldn't even hear what I actually wanted.
You aren't confused, you're just full. I used to think my problem was a lack of vision. I thought I needed a better strategy, a more detailed plan, or some genius breakthrough. I was wrong. The real problem was that I was just carrying too much stuff in my head. When your brain is constantly looping the same three worries and trying to solve everything at once, you aren't being productive. You're just stuck in a loop. Clarity doesn't show up because you thought 'hard' enough. It shows up when you actually stop thinking. If your head feels heavy today, try this: Grab a piece of paper, write down the three things that are annoying you most, and then just walk away from your desk. I've found that the best ideas usually show up when there's finally some quiet space for them to land. This is exactly how we approach things in the Inner Authority Society. We stop the overthinking so you can actually do the work. We're building a different kind of consistency over there. If you want to see how we do it, come join us: https://www.skool.com/innerauthoritysociety/about Drop a 'CLEAR' below if you're feeling the brain fog today.

Why Everything Feels Harder Than It Should
When you’ve been in go‑mode for too long showing up, managing emotions, making decisions, holding space for everyone your nervous system eventually gets tired. I am not talking about the not tired like ā€œI need a nap". But the tired like ā€œI can’t keep holding all of this.ā€ That’s when everything starts to feel harder than it should. Those simple tasks feel to heavy. The small decisions that should be automatic feel complicated and when rest doesn’t feel restful anymore. This isn't because you’re lazy or unfocused it’s because your system is overloaded. It feels like there is something wrong or broken in your body but this is your body trying to find a way to feel safe again. The work isn’t to push through what is happening but it is to slow yourself down enough to listen to what your system has been trying to say all along. What does your system need most today? https://www.skool.com/innerauthoritysociety/about

@Ina Tenniswood I am right with you. t/he past few mights have felt like burning from two ends of a candle working full time and trying to get my communities a success. I have needed to take time to pause, to focus inward on me to ensure I don't burn out. Even today Mike asked me if I wanted to go to the local Spring Home Show. Local and small. I thought about saying no and keep working but I went and actually found an Osteopath which I have been wanting to find for a long time. If didn't listen and pause I would be looking still. Even booked my session for this week.
