New to group, Saying Hi to avoid the wrath of John "the Enforcer" B.
Hey everyone. I'm glad to be here (I'm part of another skool community by John already), and I've been meaning to do more regular emails to my list and now that I'm paying John the big bucks for his daily email habit program, there's a much higher likelihood of actually doing it. a bit of background. I've been in and around the real estate investing space for 20+ years and my most recent business offering is something I call "High Ticket Podcasting" where we help our real estate clients by 1. building them a podcast that appeals to their ideal investor to ... a. be a guest on, and b. tune in to. 2. doing lead gen for them, and getting them 3 or 6 ideal guest bookings every week. 3. helping the client get the guest booked into a discovery (sales) call and convert them into an investor. 4. taking care of all the editing/production/distribution and content creation for the show. I've also started working with a few people outside of real estate in the B2B business service/consulting/coaching/advising space. I currently host 2 podcasts myself: Property Profits Real Estate Podcast, as well as The High Ticket Success Show (which I've had John and a few people from his other group on as guests). If you work in the B2B space and sell a high-ticket service or program ($5K+ LTV), let me know if you'd like to be a guest on High Ticket Success and we'll talk. Thanks everyone, and I look forward to learning from the group. Here's a picture of me trying a little too hard to look cool in my spanky new blue-blocker glasses.

I am so sad that I didn't make it in the end! What did I miss?
Emerging from hibernation
After a long and lonely sojourn in my little home office cave, I emerged today, blinking and squinting in the sunlight, to attend my first IRL networking event since before COVID. It was a very last minute decision and I came super unprepared, without so much as a business card. But I'm glad I went because it reminded me that it's nice to spend time with live humans! And you never know which random connection can get you that dream client or partner. I'm now considering attending another local event on Wednesday, but I want to be a little more prepared and use this as a way to grow my email list. So I'm wondering: Has anyone here ever used a networking event to grow their list? How did you do it? Should I create a special opt in page and offer targeted to the people at the event (in this case, fashion and beauty related brands)? What kind of offer is most likely to excite people who are distracted and busy at an event? Would appreciate any tips and tricks!

@Maliha M Good to know there's some precedent for this! Let's see if I can get some cards printed last minute

@John Bejakovic I like that idea! This puts the controls "in my hands". Now I need to go through my content to see what would most interest these brands.
Why it's easier to make friends when you're young
My theory why it's easier to make friends when you're young: Because you do exciting stuff together. You play sports together... You go to the beach together or go for a concert together... You sit in class together (not so exciting) and study for the same exams (kind of exciting, if you're a nerd) and hate the same teachers (very exciting). When you grow up, interactions with others become reduced to: Sitting together at the same coffee shop... Talking... Nodding and smiling at each other. It's hard to really form a bond over coffee and some nodding. It takes cooperation, activity, a shared goal with an emotional outcome, even if it's trivial, to bind us to other people. And as for in-life, so for on-line. Which gets me to my question for you... How can we as a group here, inside Daily Email House, do stuff TOGETHER? What would that even look like? Something that isn't just sitting in the same coffee shop (or Skool group)... "talking" (eg. posting or commenting in here)... "nodding and smiling" (liking posts or comments)? Something that involves cooperation, actual activity, a shared goal? I don't know. I hope you have ideas, and that you will share them. I'll consider them all earnestly. And if you've been in this group for any length of time, you know that if you toss up an idea, there's a good chance it will become reality. Thanks in advance.

Maybe we can do a shared project together - something that uses our combined skills + emailing? Maybe build a website about emailing daily, with a list we all build up together and we each take turns writing emails for it? Like a round robin newsletter? Each person contributes something to the site - design, development, copy, etc. And if we sell stuff on it we can all share the profits!

@John Bejakovic we can start small and see how it goes. If others are in, I would do it...
Are you planning to publish a book in the next 3 months?
I just restarted work on a book I want to write... and eventually even finish and publish. My goal is to be done with it in the next 3 months. I also know that some House members, like @Steve Raju and @Tom Grundy are in the midst of publishing their own books. What about you? Do you have plans to write and publish a book, and soon?

I don't have plans but probably should - I'm sure I have enough material for a short one from all my emails.
