Why Do We Use Box Vans and Dump Trailers? Versus The Traditional Isuzu Dump Bed
There are many reasons why use this set up: One of the most important reasons is the advertising of driving around a billboard advertising for new business all day. (Its the second best way we get our business, can you guess what the first is?) Keeping tools dry and secure, allowing us to have everything we need with us all the time. A place to store stuff that we will resell out of the weather. The dump trailer allows us to sort right on the job and a way to do many jobs before hitting the dump. Also the dump trailer saves time and allows us to have more energy because we are not doing the labor to unload the truck by hand. We work hard to be effective and efficeint, this set up works great for all the things we do, over time we picked up doing lots of related things like flooring removal and selective demolition and we now have mulitple streams of income all being worked from this one box truck dump trailer set up.

@David Lockwood It is somewhat rural, yes. Not many transfer stations.

@Nando Sanchez Just keep in mind that a box truck will limit your accessibility. If you don’t need 4WD, a box truck would be a worthwhile investment. A first investment? IMO, no. I would first get a dump trailer, as most of what you pick up will be trash. Hand unloading gets old fast, trust me, and it takes a LOT of time out of your day if you have multiple loads. I suppose it ultimately depends on what your priority is, salvaging junk or maximizing your junk removal business. Don’t get me wrong, David’s idea of box truck/dump trailer combo is genius, especially when prioritizing reselling.
Be Creamy
I read somewhere that the cream always rises to the top. When things go sideways, and they will. I don't remember where, but I am guessing it was one of my mentors, and I am pretty sure it was Tony Robbins. So if you have the mindset, you will always rise to the top. What does this mean? The mindset is this: you will do whatever it takes and persevere for as long as necessary to acquire the necessary skill set to achieve your goal, you will succeed. Things like having a worthwhile goal, doing something that you love, and working a system that is proven make the journey faster and worth the effort. I like junk removal because it's like a never-ending Christmas morning situation (when I get stuff, it's like Christmas morning - unexpected and exciting). You never know what you're going to get, and you can get paid coming and going. A walk through mu house proves it see the video. https://youtube.com/shorts/UlM1K11kt1o

Yes, sir. Dumpster rentals as well. Small demo jobs here and there.

@David Lockwood I opened Haul Pros June of 2024. I resold most usable items at the early stages. The problem I am running into now is this: I am out doing 2,3, maybe 4 jobs in a day. Job 1 may have half of a load, job 2 has two loads, 3 has 1/4 load, etc. It isn’t practical to drive all the way back to my house (or wherever I store stuff) in between jobs to offload the resealable items. I’m often 30-45 minutes away from house. If it’s small items, I will fit it in truck bed or back seat, but the furniture and large items 🤷‍♂️
