Our Newest Mentor! Gemi Moon :)
I'd love to give a special shout-out to our newest membership mentor, Gemi Moon. Gemi recently passed certification in The Reverse Engineer (very difficult) and was asked to be a mentor for this community. Gemi is very talented in her own right, but she also has a lot of love and compassion for other musicians. If you book calls with her, you'll quickly find that she's not only helping you get better but also giving you a bit of joy and confidence in your day. She has that kind of energy! We love Gemi and are excited for her journey as a mentor. I hope everyone can give her a warm welcome here in this community :)

EDIT: Replay here https://www.skool.com/mastering/classroom/f61d4cc6?md=885b51e6863a4c3a849d654362e21501 Hey everyone! Just got back from our studio event in NYC, as per usual it was a blast! Wanted to let you know that we're hosting our first ever virtual open day next Wednesday for our income generation and business program, The Profitable Engineer. We'll break down how the program works, and also share what's working right now when it comes to getting clients as a freelance engineer, producer, or composer. You've put blood, sweat, and tears into developing your craft. Now it's time to monetize it. If you want to make an income doing what you love - whether part-time or full-time - join us live and we'll show you how to make it happen. This event is designed for those who want to make an income in any area of the music industry - from freelance engineering and producing, to making music for ads, TV, films, games... or developing a career as a recording artist. It's happening next Wednesday, May 20th, at 10am PDT / 1pm EDT / 6pm BST / 7pm CEST. You can learn more and register for free here: https://courses.mastering.com/event_full/1778784228104x659561130213244900?utm_source=FTMSkool Hope to see lots of you there! Rob

Feature requests?
Hey guys, wanted to get some thoughts on how we could make this group (both free and paid membership) even better value for everyone. Post your ideas/requests below, and drop a like on the requests you like the most! Some prompts: - What could we START doing that we’re not already doing? - What could we do MORE of? - What features would you like to see added? - What do you get the most value from right now, and how could we make it even better? Obviously can’t make any promises in terms of following through on every suggestion, but I can promise that your suggestions will all be considered and we heavily weight user feedback when thinking about improvements.

@Monroe Neese Exactly. I used to always want something better. But I think Warren Huart pointed what you're saying. It's true. If it ain't broke don't fix it 😂

@Vance Tenort I think I have heard this. Probably from top music attorney. Universal also bought CD Baby. Also Distro kid is up for sale. This is a bit 😬 too. They could see more profit in enbold us as Indie artists. They also could use this to try harder to choke us out. 🐕 It all depends on what they "believe" will achieve a better profit for them. The interesting thing right now is all of these communities happening where the I die artists are supporting each other. It's crazy it took so long for that to happen. It's about the only way to survive anymore. Indies sticking together as a community is a lot harder to hold down than a bunch of scattered artists out for themselves alone. This is a lot of why I believe so much it what @Berlin RedluX is trying to do here. This is important stuff. The fact I have even a small corner that looks forward to whatever my band does next is pretty special. And unexpected. We create just because we hear these things and no one else is doing it. So seeing that it means something to even one person means the world. Hearing others do the same is inspiring to keep going. The same can be said of us as audio engineers. It's not easy doing any of this in the audio world. And the system in place is always a difficult one to get anywhere in. But while the road still looks treacherous I also have faith the there is a change for the better right around the corner. If anything shows in life is things are always changing.
