I will have to slightly disagree. One time I saw this kid playing this on a tele. He was playing like his life was on the line, because it was!🤣
⚡ 30-Day Alternate Picking Challenge – Starts Sept 26
We’re kicking off a 30-day challenge inside the Practice Room. From Sept 26 to Oct 26, your mission is simple: ✅ Do the 30-minute Alternate Picking Deep Dive routine every day ✅ Post your check-in and questions in this thread The goal is daily consistency and measurable improvement in your alternate picking. So do make sure you post every day when you've done the routine, we're building accountability and forward momentum this way. You can find the Alternate Picking Deep Dive in the classroom. I’ll be here in the thread to answer questions, give tips, and keep everyone on track. 👉 Comment “I’m in” below if you’re joining, and let’s see how much progress we can make in 30 days.

Practicing
I stumbled on this video series last week. I found it to be interesting. She talks about learning slow and showing how to progressively build speed. Her method may not be new to a lot of people, but I like way she explained her “interleaved clicking up method”. Her advice for memory recall was interesting too. https://youtu.be/zt6ngEN8uCU

@John Goncalves That was good too. I lack the discipline to mentally train away from the guitar. I have tried occasionally, but I lose focus easily. Funny thing is, I talk to youth athletes all the time about visualization and I myself failed to do it. That video is one 1of 5 she did during Covid. She even gets into sleep as a performance enhancement.

@John Goncalves I have heard her take on mistakes before. A coworker who played instruments told me the same thing. I used to go back to the beginning everytime I made a mistake and I could play the parts really good before the mistake, get through the mistake eventually and then flub my way through the rest of the song. Long explanation of saying yes. I drill the mistake. I know metronomes can progressively increase the beat, but I find that function in guitar pro even better, because I can put the trouble spot into GP and then cycle the metronome along with the music.
What do you love doing outside of music?
We all know we’re here because we love to play guitar, but what other things are you into? I’ll list a few things that I like to do to start things off Working out I lift and run pretty much daily. Then we have the dog walks of course. MMA I used to do some Karate and Judo back in the day but now I settle for watching the UFC. I rather crack a beer and watch other grown ups smack each other around😁 Movies & Series I love finding a new series to binge with the wife, we’re out of stuff to watch now so we’re currently rewatching The Sopranos. I also read a lot, both fiction and non-fiction and once GTA VI or the next Elder Scrolls game is out I’ll pick up the controller again. Enough about me, what about you?

I coach 12-14 year olds in baseball. Which I have done for the last 10 years. I have been trying to sing for the last 8 month's and just started one on one lessons. I like to read nonfiction and in the end do whatever my daughter tells me to do.🤣

Hello everyone. My name is Aaron. I live in Florida and have been playing for about 25 years. I really want to develop the ability to craft better solos on the spot and solidify my position in a local band. I love playing all types of music, from the acoustic strummer sing-a-long, 80’s hair metal, to shred to name a few. Excited to be here.
