Valuing corners
My team is currently having a hard time with “standing in the corner”. Curious on how you guys have got players to buy into spacing.
5 Out Alignment
This offseason I am coaching a spring team and will have them for a brief stint with a couple practices a week. With our personnel, I'd like to have them playing through the get, DHO, and ball screen as our primary actions. I ran drive and space with my team in the fall and loved the alignment because of the built in double gap. I feel as though a traditional 5 out alignment would suit this playstyle the best, but am curious if anyone has any ideas or adaptations that would benefit these actions in the SAVI 5 out spacing.
Transition Philosophy
I'm interested to hear what people are doing in transition in regards to pitching the ball ahead when possible (not necessarily behind the last defender - creating potentially a 1on1 in space, 2on1, etc) vs only pitching ahead when behind the last defender for a 9. Traditionally, I've pitched ahead whenever it would create a numbers advantage but I am trying to challenge some of my 'old habits'. Race and Space wouldn't align with my previous transition philosophy and I'm struggling with which direction to go with this one. Anyone? @Mark Cascio thoughts?

I only pitch ahead for 9s or 7s. My runners don’t turn their heads until they have raced the arcs. I emphasize spacing first for the ball to hunt. That being said we still look for the pitch ahead but only in a dangerous spot and I put a lot of emphasis on the pitch back if no 9 or 7 on the catch. Then we can go down up over into our first trigger.
What are your 3 Objectives for Monday's Practice?
Drop them in here, we will be answering questions on this weeks cohort call on how to shape the environment to get traction on what matters most to you.

Locking to the ball, pen reactions so 1 can’t guard 2, flying in defensive dominoes

@Andrew Scheid I remember seeing it somewhere but what does CUFF mean again?
Load management
I’m curious as to what everyone’s work week is looking like for their teams. Age, gender, level. My varsity girls are practicing every weekday right now and we have 2 hours booked each day. I am using up that slot but going to shorten to 90 minutes, giving them the first 30 to warmup and shoot. When the season starts we will have 1-2 games/week. I’m wondering what you guys think the ideal work load looks like. I traditionally have gone 4 practices 1 game/week, but also don’t want to burn these kids out.
