How much should you spend on improving yourself each year?
I have always been an avid reader (read over 100+ self help/business / leadership/technology books) But recently, I am interested in seeing how much money I should spend to improve myself. Where should I look? The biggest and most successful companies, of course. In the world of technology, companies spend a certain amount on improving themselves each year - it is called R&D (Research and development) So how much should I spend each year on improving myself? Apple spends 7.8% of its revenue on R&D each year. Microsoft spends 7.5% of its revenue on R&D each year. So this means if I am earning $100,000 per year - I should spend around $8,000 per year on improving myself This includes developing new capabilities, creating tools, buying tools, and buying knowledge/books/educational programs. Tech companies never stop investing in themselves. That's why they are always growing. How much do you spend on improving yourself each year?
