⭐ What It Really Takes to Get Good With Horses...
After all these years with horses, teaching horses, teaching people, making mistakes, learning, rebuilding, starting again - I honestly know now that getting good with horses comes down to a few main ingredients, including: 💗A good heart. 👂A genuine will to learn. 🤣A sense of humor 🪞Self-reflection. 👩‍🎓And the discipline to keep practicing and refining the art of what we’re learning. Because horses will ALWAYS humble you where one moment you feel like you’ve figured something out and the next moment they’ll show you another layer you didn’t even realize existed. That’s why ego struggles so much around horses, but curiosity thrives so if you can laugh sometimes, reflect honestly, keep your heart in the right place, and stay committed to learning instead of proving - you’ll go much further than you think. It will be much more fun too. ❓Which ingredient's do you naturally have, and which one's challenges you most? For fun - bonus points: ❓I 've been fortunate to study and work alongside many great horse people - do you recognize any of the teachers/trainers in this pic out of the old box? 🐴✨🫶

🐎 Week 19 - 2026
Alright peeps, what did you and your horse get up to this week? I’d love to hear what’s been going on in your world re: the rides, the groundwork, the little breakthroughs, the funny moments, the things that felt better than before or even the things that challenged you a bit. 👇🐴✨🫶

@Zoë Coade I managed to get back on today and we had hind quarter and forehand yields, steering and brakes so thought ooh why not and popped into trot for the first time. All the groundwork translating beautifully into bitless ridden work. 😀

@Zoë Coade so cool 😀. Very very excited that she is becoming less ‘young baby all over the place’ it really felt good and she was so relaxed throughout. I am buzzing 😀
☕ GET GOOD COFFEE HOUR (TEST RUN)...
Alright…am gonna be testing something new 🤩 ⭐ SAVE THE DATE: Next Thursday 21 May 2026 at 7pm CEST - I’m going to hit that LIVE button inside the community for a relaxed and super fun “Get Good Coffee Hour.” Calendar · Get Good With Horses Courses No pressure to you or formal training required, just a casual 15-minute hangout while I (we) test the features and explore future themed sessions and community calls. I’d LOVE a few of you to jump in so I’m not talking to myself like a madwoman 🤣 A few things to know if you join: 🔹 You do NOT have to have your camera on 🔹 You can mute yourself if you prefer 🔹 You can simply listen quietly if that feels more comfortable 🔹 You do not need to know what to say 🔹 Tea is also accepted, or just water if you must - we’re inclusive here 😂 This is simply about getting more comfortable connecting as a community. FYI - All future recordings will be saved and made available in Premium. If you think you’ll pop in, drop a ☕ below so I know I won’t be alone and if you have a question (any question) about your horsemanship - this is a great opportunity to get live feedback. Looking forward, Zoë 🐴✨🫶

🐴 GET GOOD THEMED WEEK 1: STILLNESS
✨ We’re starting something new this week. A simple rhythm to help you Get Good - one focus at a time, alongside your usual training. And we’re beginning with something that changes everything and this is 'stillness'. Stillness is one of the most overlooked skills in horsemanship and not because it’s unimportant, but because it’s uncomfortable to most. We fidget, adjust, interfere and often we don’t even realize we’re doing it. But your horse feels everything so when you remove the unnecessary, what’s left becomes incredibly clear. Your 3 Focus Points: - Notice where you move without intention (hands, legs, seat, shoulders) - Pause before you adjust - ask yourself: “Is this needed?” - Allow your horse time to respond before you do more You might find your horse softens or you might find confusion shows up, both are valuable feedback. Stillness doesn’t mean doing nothing, it means doing only what matters. I’d love to hear from you - what changes when you get quieter this week? Drop a win, a realization, or even a struggle below 👇 These posts will be pinned to help you remember. And if you want help refining what should stay and what can go, that’s exactly what we go deeper into inside the GGWH Skool where we break it down step-by-step so you’re not left guessing. Let’s begin 🐴✨🫶

Haha this is timely - I was watching a video back of me playing with Breeze and I noticed how much I give her rubs and scratches - not the worst thing in the world but I did remind myself that the release is everything and perhaps I could fuss her a bit less. I was wondering if it maybe interfered with her processing?😊
