New Week, New Goals!
Since it's the beginning of a new week, it's time to share them below! It's okay if you weren't able to accomplish what you had set out to do last week. Life gets messy. Now, you just have to keep pushing yourself to work towards it, no matter what! If your heart is pulling you to write a book, keep on working towards it. What I have found that helps with making the book creation process smoother is having a team to back you up! That's why my team and I are here to help guide you when you've decided that enough is enough and you're done walking in circles on your own. Reach out to me and let's talk about the next steps for you!

The draft of my 7000 words Tale is done. 7000 words is not much, but Gemnini tells me that illustrated and and well put together, it can make a good product. I am ready for Beta reading ( oops, it's in French, but translation is not that hard to do...), rewriting, etc. So, how do I go for beta readers?

@Dani Rosenblad James It's a tale of a newcomer arrival in a village ( Yes, the talk about immigration, now in the form of a tale). I will not describe what I want to convey... I want Beta readers to tell me what's been conveyed to them.
Writers in Troubled Times
In our moment of technological speed, moral outrage, posturing, and constant noise dominate public life. Writing does something different. It forces the mind to slow down long enough for thought to take shape. “But,” you might protest, “it’s easier to hold a sign with a slogan, fire off a trash post on X, or just tune out and wait for March Madness.” Fair enough. But we are writers. And historically, hasn’t it been writers who changed minds, clarified ideas, and helped societies think their way through upheaval rather than merely react to it? So here’s the question for you: What does writing allow us to do in times of turmoil that other forms of expression do not? Thoughtful reflection welcome. Disagreement welcome. The aim is clarity, not noise.

"So here’s the question for you: What does writing allow us to do in times of turmoil that other forms of expression do not?" Any work of fiction reflects something in the real world. Humor has its way of getting readers to "swallow the pill" a little more easily. Transposing people so that you are not directly naming a specific country, group, religion, etc., but you are showing, not telling what's itching you. Readers who are on one side of an issue can get to see what it's like to be in the other person's shoes. That's what fiction can do. That's what I hope to do with my tale. Sprinkle a little humour ( it's not exactly there for the time being, I realise), Set the scene in a village in the past... and say something about immigration without pointing any finger at anyone... just have a situation

@Shawn Helgerson On YouTube, we see old interviews where the interviewer just listens to the person ( a politician, an artist, etc.) for several minutes in a row, developping a train of thoughts freely... we don't have that format anymore.

Roughly 5000 words of a small tale written. I have covered every scene I wanted, except for the conclusion after the climax. I will write that conclusion and/or do my first revision of it. Yes, that's it for this week. Then, following weeks will be about what I will do with it.

Your Book Starts When You Choose Yourself
Your book doesn’t begin when you write the first chapter. It begins the moment you choose yourself. ❤️ The moment you say, I’m done hiding. 🫣 I’m done shrinking. I’m done waiting for the perfect time. ⏰ Your book is an act of self-trust. An act of courage. An act of becoming. If you’re ready to choose yourself and step into your voice as an author, the Clarity to Book ARC Workshop is your doorway. Dm me or comment “workshop” and I’ll send you the details! You can apply and there are only so many spots left! This workshop is on January 9th.

I have set my goal on writing a small collection of tales that mix Quebec's with Persian traditions of tales. Tales will do better than real story. I have 2 tale ideas in my head already, waiting for me to "put meat around the bone" I wonder if the Chasse-Gallerie story is local to Quebec or if it is internationally known.
