🎸 DAY 2: Unlocking Chords Without Memorizing 1,000 Shapes
Starting the challenge over... starting on day 2 today... it took me all weekend to edit this video, and there's still stuff I would like to add to it or do differently... I might make this a part 2 and part 3... maybe a min course... we'll see... Thanks for those who have engaged with it so far... @Ricardo Ponce @Eric Smith @Urian Alleman Ayers!! Hey Guitar Heroes! Welcome to Day 2 of the challenge—and today we’re diving into a BIG mindset and skill shift when it comes to guitar chords. If you've ever felt overwhelmed flipping through chord books, trying to memorize a million shapes—you are not alone. But here's the truth: 👉 You don’t need more chords. 👉 You need to **understand and explore** the ones you already know. In today’s video, I’ll show you how to: ✅ Take a basic open chord and create 3-5 variations by changing **just one note** ✅ Move familiar chord shapes **up the neck** to create powerful new voicings ✅ Turn your chord book into a **creative springboard** (not a memorization trap) This is the stuff that *real guitar freedom* is made of. --- 🎯 TODAY’S CHALLENGE: 1. Pick 3 chords you already know 2. Create 3 new variations of each by changing ONE note 3. Move each of those shapes up the neck and explore how they sound 4. **Post a video** or photo of your discoveries and tag it with... ` #Day2Challenge` 🎁 I’ll be watching the group and giving feedback—and maybe even hooking up some fun prizes. 👀 --- 💭 MINDSET SHIFT OF THE DAY: > You don’t need to memorize a thousand chords—you need to master a few and know how to play with them. This is how you build confidence, creativity, and control over your fretboard. --- 🔥 Drop your questions, ah-ha moments, and videos below. Let’s keep the momentum going—and I’ll see you in Day 3, where we try to revive some fun riffs, and maybe learn some new ones... 🎸💪 Keep Unleashing Your Inner Guitar Hero! 🎶🦸‍♂️

Welcome Gary!
Monday Motivation
It's a magical thing, the guitar. It allows you to be the whole band in one, to play rhythm and melody, sing over the top. And as an instrument for solos, you can bend notes, draw emotional content out of tiny movements, vibratos and tonal things which even a piano can't do. David Gilmour... One of my main goals is to be able to play guitar as a solo instrument, like Joe Pass. David Gilmour was one of my influences too! Who are your influences?!

You did it... just finished my practice session... My love for the guitar came form the 70 and 80: Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Dave Allman, Mark Knopfler... Of course, David Gilmour. My goal is to be able to play a "set" of just common, fun, sing-along-songs, primarily Christian or clean secular.
How well do you know your Major scales?
Can you play each scale on one string? Why does it matter?! Because knowing your major scale up and down one string, will help you to understand intervals, triads, chords, chord progressions and so much more… If this interests anyone, I’ll make some video content about it… Let me know!! 👇
