@Mila Zinoveva Ah, thank you so much,Mila. This is exactly my problem. Actually, before you corrected my homework, I had already attended three AMA online meetings to practice Listen One with the coaches. The feedback I received was basically about the "L" and "R" sounds. I reflected on this, and when I first learned English—back in school, that is—we didn’t pay attention to this issue. So, when I pronounced these sounds, they just sounded similar to the correct ones, but no one ever taught us the proper tongue positions or techniques. Thank you so much for your help. I will definitely watch this video carefully and learn how to pronounce "L" and "R" correctly. This is precisely my weak area.I will try to slow down and enunciate each sound clearly to get through this article. I'm looking forward to doing better next time.Thank you so much.

Could I ask if your recording was done with a script or without one?

Question again
I've just started the PIRF Fresh course. And I have a quick question to ask again. According to the instructions, I should read with my own pronunciation for the first 5 days, then watch Shane’s video on the 6th day to correct my pronunciation. After that, I need to upload the corrected recording for coaches to review, and then schedule a video lesson for an online discussion. I’ve tried following this, but I feel that reading with my own pronunciation for all 5 days seems to deepen my impression of incorrect sounds. While this makes the contrast with correct pronunciation very clear, my mouth muscles are almost forming a wrong memory of it. So, could I shorten the time I spend self-studying and reading on my own? For example, I could explore pronunciation by myself for the first 3 days—just to read the text fluently with my current pronunciation. Then, on the 4th, 5th, and 6th days, I can use the video to correct my pronunciation, leaving more time to practice the correct sounds. Finally, I’ll record the audio, upload it, and schedule an online session with coaches for guidance. Personally, I feel this method would work better for me. Would this adjustment be feasible?I'm really looking forward to the coaches' answers.

@Mila Zinoveva So when I’m recording my homework audio—should I read it naturally while looking at the script, or do I need to retell it in my own words from memory? Retelling it from memory is really hard for me.🥹

@Shane Peterson Ah, that's awesome! I really couldn't have memorized it anyway, so thank you so much!

Such the end of days, you can't see anything.
About the 【Greenhouse on Mars】
The teaching model of PIRF is very scientific. It’s actually trying to teach me the key points and pronunciation.Teacher Shane teaches much better than any of my previous teachers. I feel this is really helpful for both reading comprehension and speaking. But the long words in the text are absolutely killing me.When I read them, I don’t know where to place my tongue.I hope next time when they build a greenhouse, they won’t invite this expert with so many long titles to be the director anymore.🤣
