Become aware of the conversation in our head

@Katharine Fox I’ll give you a pass on that since the chattering monkeys are the conversation. Kind of like a meditation. Does it work?

@Katharine Fox Meditators tend to focus on the breath (instead of counting). I have another strategy that I’m going to share in the next couple of weeks that could be an alternative for you. Stay tuned!

Keep the Channel Open
There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist though any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep the channel open... whether you choose to take an art class, keep a journal, record your dreams, dance your story or live each day from your own creative source. Above all else, keep the channel open. Martha Graham

Mindset May - Group Challenge
Becoming aware of our thoughts is one of the most powerful ways to have a positive impact on our quality of life. Thoughts indeed create our reality. This is true when it comes to our vision of what we want for our future lives, but also in the day-to-day and moment-to-moment experiences we have. The mind is an amazing tool that helps us to navigate our lives. We have the ability to control and dictate our thoughts and determine where we’ll place our focus. But the mind also has the tendency to run on its own, replaying pasts events or projecting future ones. The effect of our mind constantly running though thoughts can range between relatively harmless to entirely destructive. Often, we just repeat the same thought over and over. Even if it isn’t overly destructive, at the very least it is distractive and inefficient. Repeatedly having the same thought serves no purpose and does not help advance us in our endeavors. In fact, it becomes a barrier to those things. It’s like having the same conversation with someone, but never reaching a resolution. In this case the someone is our own self.
