Let's chat about the difference between organic synthetic and then soluable vs insoluble. Ingredients list: Understand it = organic Don't understand it = synthetic Soluable = feed the plant Insoluble = feeds the ecosystem
@Jim Flach I've tried manure that had dried out before. I wonder if it actually needs a sort of curing time? Even though I had it completely dry, it never went through the heat process. Where its normallypiled up. It caused mold growth with just a drying period. Now, im not about to have a taste test for salt! Lol
I'm needing the garden gurus! I just found ants in a raised beds. While its not many yet, I want them gone. We have fireants here and While they can be somewhat controlled, its absolutely impossible to eradicate them completely. This is my ashwagandha and next to the tulsi!
@Dennis Wichter every bed has been built with the same things, and additives, which is only the boiled egg water and egg shells. They only went around the tomato plants which is in all 4 planters. I cant trace the ants going or coming as im not seeing a line to follow. Each planter has tomatoes, chard, and leeks. Then the rest is different plants. The only planter with these ants is this 1 and they are only on the 1 ashwagandha plant. It doesn't look like they are eating the plant. I still saw them yesterday. Its not really many ants, but im concerned they may be bedding in there. I think I may have gotten them in my leaf pile. I tried to avoid them but i apparently didn't. How will this affect my plants and quality of dirt?
Question @Dennis Wichter Is the fungal-dominant and bacterial-dominant two different ecosystems... Would increasing bacteria tend to increased the bacteria predators cycling more life and nutrients in the soil without affecting the fungal world?
@Dennis Wichter i mostly used catfish, bream, crappie, i had a bass i caught but he ate the other smaller fish. Once I caught a drum fish. He was huge! About 15 lbs! But I caught all of them myself from the local lake or creek.
I just really love fishing from the bank of Terrain creek here. Best in spring and early summer. There is such a wide variety of fish. Our lake, Weiss lake hosts a large crappie tournament every year. Crappie are similar to the bream or sunfish in size but not living area. With crappie getting a little bigger. They can be caught year round and the bream is a lot more common at banks. I often see Osprey birds with bream. As they re- build or return to the same nesting places every year. I find either crappie or bream are great in auquaponics with catfish in 3rd place. I released the cats in a pond when they started getting a little too big.
@Julie Vigil I had that problem too with purchased lady bugs! And I have billions of the Asian lady beetles. They nested over winter in my enclosed buildings and my home. I do have several praying mantis cocoons. Hopefully they will hatch!
