Try this with your dog this week 🐾
This Week’s Challenge: The 3-Second Check-In Game Want your dog to pay more attention to you on walks without constantly calling their name? Try this: ➡️ On your next walk, every time your dog voluntarily looks at you, mark it with a cheerful “Yes!” (or click if you use a clicker) and give them a treat. That’s it. No commands, no asking for attention. Just reward the choice to check in with you. ‼️ Why it works: Dogs repeat behaviors that pay off. When checking in becomes rewarding, your dog starts choosing to stay connected to you—even when there are distractions around. Your challenge this week: - Do this for 5 minutes per walk. - Count how many check-ins happen naturally. - Notice if the number increases by the end of the week. - 👇 Share in the comments: How many check-ins did your dog offer on Day 1?

🐾 What Animal Mothers Can Teach Us About Love
I've been wanting to share this story since Mother's Day, I did that today in my first 'coffee hour' (check out the calendar for the next one - and I will figure out the sound better next time i promise;) During the devastating bushfires in Australia, I witnessed one of the most remarkable examples of a mother's love I've ever seen. It involved a kangaroo and her little joey, and it's a story I'll never forget. ❤️ 🦘 Animals never cease to amaze me. Have you ever witnessed the bond between an animal mother and her young? 🐾👇 I'd love to hear your stories in the comments, let's share these momma's lessons. ❤️

🐝 Bee stings in dogs part II
I just put up a video about this really common thing - and forgot to talk about the signs to look out for with anaphylaxis in dogs stung by a bee. Basically, in that first 30-60 minutes especially, if they are unwell in ANY way (vomiting, diarrhoea, weak, wobbly) that’s cause for concern. ✋ Anybody have to deal with dogs & bees? It’s definitely a thing 🙃. Quick vid explainer here…

Try this with your dog this week 🐾👇
Before you put your dog’s food bowl down tonight… Ask for 3 simple things they already know: 👉 sit 👉 touch 👉 wait That’s it. Why this helps: - Builds focus around excitement - Boosts engagement with you - Creates calm habits without “training sessions” - Gives your dog a quick mental workout before eating Keep it light, fun, and under 60 seconds. You’re not aiming for perfection — just communication and teamwork 💛 Try it this week and let me know:Which cue does your dog get MOST excited for? 🐶👇

Is “stay” another way of saying “wait”? What’s touch? Maybe I missed a video🫣 cookie always has to sit and wait/ stay before her meal…. Champing at the bit!🐶
