🤩 New saddle is a go…
✨ Funny video of Lenny today after he realized for the first time he can see me on his back! Seen himself before but today was extra cute… I mentioned in the week 3 weekly wins I got a new saddle and today was the first day I rode in it! Will share with you its only the 4th time I rode him or any horse in the last 4 months.😅 Can update you why if you’re interested? Be prepared for a higher/self power story and not and taking no as an answer! Love my Len, such a darling character 🥰 🫶✨🐴

@Maddie Pemberton I really hope your knee behaves and mends soon. The tit of it all is the frustration right? Us horse girls just want to, and love to do things. One bright side I guess is ya get to study a bit more or are you finding other new ways to stay busy? 🤭🥰

@Maddie Pemberton Really to hear that and I love how deeply you’re thinking about this subject. Licking and chewing has become a big topic on social media lately, and it’s worth keeping some perspective. As we all know, horses are prey animals - they will always carry some level of tension. So the idea that licking and chewing is “bad” or something we should eliminate is honestly nonsense. If you ever come across posts claiming that, it’s worth questioning the context. I think sometimes these people are just looking for likes and shares through rubbish info. Licking and chewing also isn’t a guarantee of anything magical - but it is useful feedback. Most often it tells us the horse understood something because the pressure went away, exactly like their dam taught them early on. What I personally find even more interesting are the quiet responses - the breath softening, the subtle shifts, the moments where nothing obvious happens on the outside but things change over time. Those are gold. And yes… I completely get the frustration of studying while wanting to run off and play because the videos spark ideas 😄 Trying to minimize that pull is very relatable. You’re spot on to be mindful not to confuse stillness with confidence, especially with a breath holder. I love how curious and reflective you’re being, your mindset is doing more for Breeze than any single technique ever could. 🐴✨🫶

Preparing for the dentist!!
I guess my other anxiety as I do not ride anymore...is managing the dentist! I think I get so anxious ( do not know why) before they come. Both mine are sedated. Little one has not had a bit in yet too so dentist struggles to open his mouth. So... I will be planning for spring dental visit, to improve on this! Work on my anxiety levels, work on little one opening mouth and creating a pleasant environment prior...Does anyone else get anxious over the dentist???? Any helpful advice/ideas gladly appreciated ☺️✅🤠

@Abby Bennett Can we please clone him and place one of him in every country around the world? I think we’d solve about 90% of horse dentistry stress overnight! Jokes aside, that ethos is really special. You can feel when someone truly understands horses, and it sounds like you’ve found a rare gem. 🐴✨🫶

@Cheg Darlington That means a lot to me thank you. 😍 Am in total agreement - real professionals don’t just do a job, they understand horses as individuals and adapt to who’s in front of them. Sadly, that awareness is still missing in far too many places. I’m really grateful you see the value in preparing horses for necessary care in a way that supports their confidence and dignity. I got you all the way. 🐴✨🫶

@Cheg Darlington thank you, it's funny how things work - I created these about a year ago, they were not really suitable for my online Academy because the community was rather quiet. In here I have to say it seems they fit perfectly. Super cool 🥰
🧼 🫧 Sheath & Udder Hygiene…
✨ Hey Get Gooders, something I think that doesn’t get talked about or taught enough is the importance of sheath and udder hygiene as part of whole-horse care. This isn’t just about cleanliness. 👉 When geldings develop beans or heavy buildup, it can: • cause discomfort or pain • change posture and movement • contribute to tension patterns • and in some cases even show up as lameness or behavioural changes ⚠️ Mares are no exception - udder sensitivity and hygiene matter just as much. Especially if they are breeding. We also shouldn’t forget the back end - for both boys and girls. This includes being comfortable with a gentle sponge wipe, taking a temperature when needed, and for mares, having their privates cleaned when required. What I want to gently but clearly say is this: 👉 It IS possible for all horses to be comfortable being touched everywhere. The only reason it often isn’t, is because they haven’t been shown how to feel safe, confident, and understood in those moments. Basically the way I see it is that all body parts should be tamed. Not just the parts we need to lead and ride. I’ll be releasing a way of teaching this soon in my Heart in Your Hand - Body Awareness Scan . It will be available: • as a level unlock, • as a one-time purchase, • and as part of a full course of relatable subjects inside the Get Good With Horses Skool when it is launched. The attached video is for fun filmed yesterday! Lenny the Kid has no issues with this kind of handling because I started early, back when he was a yearling. Weanlings and young horses generally accept these things quite easily, but given time and different experiences, they can become more protective and tense - especially geldings who may carry tension or trauma from castration. How comfortable is your horse with being touched everywhere on their body - and where do you notice the most sensitivity? Or another way of saying it is: If your horse could choose one area of their body to feel more comfortable being touched, where would it be?

@Cheg Darlington I’m honestly loving the teamwork in your household - “it’s a guy thing” and he just… got on with it 😅 goals. And I appreciate the clarification that he doesn’t only get assigned the squishy bits. 🤣 🐴✨🫶
