Feedback need on Emotional Piano playlist
Hi all, I am considering pitching my Emotional Piano playlist as I continnue to work on my Trap cinema playlist. I am sure if this is pitch ready in terms of arrangements and mixdown. Do I need to soften the tracks a little more? Are the tracks editor friendly? https://s.disco.ac/tqkbhkteyzgw Many thanks

Thanks Glenn, I will go through this tomorrow. I have now made this playlist into 10 tracks instead of 5.
Looking for Insights About Mood Terms and Genre Names
Sync Vault: I'm still struggling to find the best way to describe my overall style of cinematic electronica when writing pitch emails, etc. (That old saying is true, "Writing about music is like dancing about architecture.") Last night I heard a song on the Apple TV show "Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed" that feels stylistically adjacent to some of the things I compose. I would love for some SV peeps to listen to this track, "My Head is Empty" by the band This Will Destroy Me, and give me some ideas about words that reflect both the genre of this sound and the mood terms that would make sense in the metadata for a song like this. What do you think? https://youtu.be/HM6RBgYA3k8?si=GGplsH6YYRAtCJvt

I would say this would fall uder the stylized mood. It sounds abstract and hypnotic to me.
๐ŸŽฅYour mix might be killing your sync chances.
Found a YouTube channel that's genuinely useful for sync work: Film and TV Without Music. The concept is simple - film and TV clips with the music stripped out. No score, no underscore, just the scene. Why does that matter? Because one of the hardest things to train your ear for is where your music needs to sit so it's not fighting dialogue. You can't hear that problem until you're actually placing tracks underneath real scenes with real speech frequencies. The workflow I mentioned to @David Goode : pull a clip from a show that fits the mood of your cue, drop your track underneath it, and listen for where the frequencies compete. Mid-range is where dialogue lives. That's where most sync rejections are hiding, and most composers never find it until a supervisor tells them. This channel also gives you raw material to score to picture, which is one of the fastest ways to understand how editors actually use music - and what makes a cue work or fall apart in context. Link in the comments. Go mess around with it. https://www.youtube.com/@FilmandTVWithoutMusic-um9wd

Feedback needed on Cinematic Hip Hop & Trap - VOL. 1
Hi guys, I have decided to doubled down on Cinematic Hip Hop & Trap and believe I am nearly at the place where I can start pitching the first playlist to Libraries etc. I will keep each playlist to 5 tracks broken down into volumes. I need help with the order of the tracks (Which track should I put first etc.). Also, I could do with some feedback on the mix and also if any of tracks fail to meet requirements for pitching. Please let me know your thoughts on anything that I may have missed (Artwork etc..) https://s.disco.ac/ebkppiijldqg Many thanks

@Glenn Macrae I'm still working through these adjustments. I had a bit of a wobble yesterday with Vengeance and spent quite a bit of time on it so going back with fresh ears today. I also decided to replace Forever with another track with flute that may sit better on this playlist. The track is called Thankful. https://s.disco.ac/dokgvpaowypn Not sure.....

@Glenn Macrae Thanks Glenn. I completely agree with your note about the core mood. I think it best to create 2 or 3 cues from this one. I'll dive into this one tomorrow.
5 Days of a Song a Day!
Hey all! For the first time ever, I have a child free week while my daughter visits her grandparents in Alabama, so I told @Glenn Macrae I would structure out one song every day until I have to go pick her up! My goal is to have at least a rough instrumental arrangement of a song, plus scratch vocals of lyrics and melody. And to hold myself accountable, I'm posting my creations here at the end of every day. Feel free to leave feedback if you like! But mostly I just need the accountability. ๐Ÿ˜… Today I have (surprise) a dark pop song inspired by Tate McRae and Ariana Grande. Only scratch vocals so far and still working on tiny details of the production, but the arrangement is all there! https://s.disco.ac/leronysntnqy

I like the concept of this song... Your strategy of one song every day is a great target.
