Hi everyone! This summer at film camp, I created my first project. The idea was to create something like this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhzBO5TJXeE&t=16s&ab_channel=HollywoodAuthentic In the result, I have a short film about a person who inspires me. I chose Dana — a business coach and a truly happy woman who continues to live and work with purpose every day, even during the war under daily attacks. Link – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2tIN4O9_M4&ab_channel=AnnaHalushtenko The film is in Ukrainian. I know I should add subtitles, but since I edited everything on my phone, it wasn’t very convenient to do so there. I’d love to hear your feedback on the editing, color, sound, and storytelling. This was my very first project, and I learned a lot through the hands-on process and guidance from the classes. What I learned: 1. I definitely need a microphone — the iPhone sound quality isn’t great. 2. I should capture more details of the environment, nature, and the subject to use between main scenes. 3. Storyboarding is a must — it helps create a clear template for filming and asking questions. My questions for you: 1. What editing tool do you find most convenient? 2. What’s the best way to edit sound? Any tutorials you recommend? 3. Are there key storytelling rules I should follow to make the plot more engaging? 4. I felt it was difficult to choose which shots to include, when to add b-roll, photos, or background… Do you have any advice on how to do this? It would be great if you share your thoughts!
