✨ June...what a month! ✨
Sometimes I get so caught up chasing the next goal that I forget to look back at how far I've come. So here's to June...πŸ₯Ή and in true Usra style fashionably late πŸ˜… πŸ’š New low weight. πŸ“ More centimetres lost. πŸ’ͺ New workout phase (that I was convinced I'd hate...I didn't πŸ˜‚). πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ Conquered the Smith machine. 🦡 Survived Bulgarian split squats πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ Fell back in love with swimming. 🎾 Played tennis with my family for 30 minutes straight (never been able to do that!) πŸ₯© Stayed consistent with protein and nutrition. πŸ“± Tracked every meal. πŸ‘Ÿ Kept moving, even when I REALLY didn't want to. πŸ§˜β€β™€οΈ Mobility, steps and habits all stayed on track. But my biggest win?..... My mindset. I've stopped waiting to feel motivated and started showing up anyway. I'm slowly learning that consistency beats perfection every single time. ✨ My motto: "Show up. Stay consistent. Trust the process." ✨ Here's to becoming stronger...physically, mentally and emotionally. July.....onwards and upwards. ❀️πŸ’ͺ

Strong Today, Independent Tomorrow
Yesterday I took my dad to physical therapy, and watching all the seasoned people there working through their own physical challenges made me feel extra grateful for my health. Going through the PT exercises with my dad and seeing him work on mobility at his age was such a reminder of why mobility matters so much. It is not just about working out, lifting heavier, or chasing a goal. It is about being able to move, function, and take care of ourselves as we age. Afterward, I went home and shared my reflection with my partner and daughter. As I get more seasoned in life, I do not want to rely on my child to do the simple quality-of-life things for me. I want to be able to lift, move, and stay as independent as I can for as long as I can. I put myself in the patients’ shoes, and honestly, it made me feel frustrated just imagining not being able to do the simple things we often take for granted. This was such a humbling reminder to keep showing up for my body now, not just for how I want to look, but for the quality of life I want to have later. Mobility is an investment in our future self. πŸ’›

Texas Burn!!!
Hi everyone, Nancy here coming from San Antonio, Texas for now. Looking to continue my fitness journey as I get closer to 50 and lose that stubborn mid section fat. I made too many excuses the last 6 years and it caught up with me. My last meal would be carne asada mini tacos (usually served 5 with double tortilla).
