Aligned AI Summit - Sept. 8-11
New summit alert! I'm speaking at Ruth Poundwhite's Aligned AI Summit on September 10th. My session is called 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗠𝘆 𝗔𝗜 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺: 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗥𝘂𝗻 𝗠𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆, and I'm walking through what I actually hand off to AI, what I still do myself, and where that line is for me. Spoiler: it's not everything, and it's not nothing. 😜 There are 30+ other speakers over the four days (Sept 8-11), all talking about using AI in a way that actually fits how you work, without losing your personality and humanity in the process. Presentations are short and sweet (15-20 min), pre-recorded so you can watch on your own time, and free for 48 hours each. Check it out here! Anybody else in this group speaking in the summit? I've seen a lot of familiar names and faces so far!

It's FriYAY! This or That: Fall Edition 🍂
Happy Friday, all! Let's have some fun and get to know each other a bit more (and maybe learn something new about ourselves in the process...🤔) 𝗙𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🍁🎃 - Pumpkin spice or apple cider - Pumpkin patch or haunted house - Apple picking or fall festival - Gilmore Girls marathon or spooky movie marathon - Bonfire or curled up by the fireplace - Apple pie or pumpkin pie

- Pumpkin spice or apple cider: BOTH! - Pumpkin patch or haunted house: Haunted house - though haven't been in years because we don't have them in NZ... - Apple picking or fall festival: An autumn festival would be preferred, but again not common in NZ. - Gilmore Girls marathon or spooky movie marathon: Spooky movies - of course! You've got entire franchise to binge: Saw, Friday the 13th, Halloween, and many more. - Bonfire or curled up by the fireplace: Bonfire obviously! - Apple pie or pumpkin pie: Pumpkin pie - but no crust.
State thrashing
Picture this. You sit down to work and realize you have five different tasks that need to get done. So you open your project management tool and start sorting them by importance. While you're in there, you realize you forgot some subtasks. So you add those. Then you get an email about a summit you want to participate in, so you add the application deadline and everything you'll need to do for that. You look up an hour later at your beautifully organized list and feel like you've been really productive. Except... you haven't actually crossed a single thing off of it. 😬 There's a computer science concept for this called state thrashing. Basically, a system can get so overwhelmed deciding what to work on and switching between tasks that it spends more resources MANAGING the work than actually DOING the work. Sound familiar? 😅 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲: When the system is overloaded, the solution is to STOP trying to perfectly organize everything, and START processing. Grab the first thing that you can cross off the list and DO IT. Don't get me wrong - there absolutely is value in planning, organizing, and prioritizing. But at some point, if you're dealing with state thrashing, you have to stop sorting the work... and do the work. Thoughts?

Hey - I feel resembled in there!
My 'Morning Briefing' Claude workflow
You know those mornings when EVERYTHING seems like it's important and needs to be done at once? You sit down ready to work…and promptly use a chunk of your best working hours trying to decide what in the world you should even work on first. Well, that's a problem I set out to solve! Enter: my morning briefing with Claude. 😏 This week at the AI Exposed Summit (The Claude Edition), I'm giving a sneak peek into my actual Claude workflow I use to have Claude create a prioritized briefing FOR me. (Honestly, usually while I'm still lying in bed first thing in the morning 😅) It recommends what I should focus on first. What can reasonably wait (no matter how shiny it seems!). And what I absolutely can’t afford to miss. The session is now available until August 21st: ✨ No More Guessing! How Claude Runs My Business Briefing So I Always Know What to Do First Check it out for free here: https://www.skool.com/empowered-ai-collective/about?ref=9488c05711954f9ba7bd719cc4432143

@Elaine Clark Here's one of the sources I have bookmarked: https://comtechnology.co.nz/how-to-connect-multiple-gmail-accounts-to-claude-on-mac/ But there are several guides and even a few GitHub repos that cover setting up multiple MCP servers.

@Elaine Clark Understand that! It's a more advanced setup that most users will need or want so it's not talked about as much.
Happy FriYAY! This or That: Timing & Deadline Style Edition
Let’s have some fun! In honor of the fact that I just now remembered that it’s Friday and posting this at 8pm 😜… Timing & Deadline Edition - Early bird or fashionably late? - Start projects early or wait til deadline? - Set reminders or trust your memory? - Over-prepare or just go with it? - Sleep on it or decide immediately? - Always running on time or always scrambling?

Is there an official start time like curtain? Early. If it's a party or something casual, fashionably late. Depends on the project, but even if I start early I'll wait til the deadline to finish! Set reminders - then still ignore them. 🤣 Usually over-prepared for new things, but after a few times I'll wing it. Like packing the night before... 🫣 Depends on the seriousness, but usually it's just confirming what I would've initially chosen anyways. Scrambling, but usually still on time!
