Heads up - likely need to push today’s coaching call later.
Still on the road coming back from Santa Cruz. If there’s a place I can stop at 10 or 12 and do today’s call, I will but may need to push to 3 pm today!

Okay let’s gooo!! Update. ( still condensing my treatment in the background ) the script - starts off after the miss echo escaping facility 6 ( where also donnie and Eddie were introduced ) scene that was shown in previous calls. ( crossed out lines in script are bits I’m not entirely sure on and want to come back to. But wasn’t sure if they are necessary or cheesy) I’ve kept them in for now to come back later to change or cut. But want to keep the flow of writing going and not let those bits completely block me from carrying on. ) I’m Excited for the calll as always and seeing what you guys are up to this week. Also David I hope the road trip is great fun 🥳🥳🥳 Thanks guys. Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow 🖤

@Jason Byrley oh this. I defo try to do this also. But I just over think it as I can’t figure out how a treatment looks physically on the page. ( after looking at a few they all look different) the treatment part is the part that sends me in circles as I know the story very well. But I’m stuck on the physicality ( I know I’m thinking too literal ) I’ve cut 12 pages to 9 so far. Just need to keep cutting the treatment down to a summary I think. ( I don’t know ) How are you getting on with yours 👀😍
Great coaching sessions today and yesterday!
Thanks to all who showed up and are putting in the work to truly level up. I’m on my way to UC Santa Cruz to take my son on a college tour. Will post the sessions tonight! Meanwhile, what are your goals for the rest of the week?

Another amazing call with amazing work ! Great to listen in last night! My goals are to tighten my treatment and create an overview and create one with only what I need, as if I were to pitch it. I’ve read many treatments. And they all look so different on the page and include different things. So trying to figure out what exactly I need and don’t need is a bit of a struggle. - ( i over think it. ) but it’s all good! We move. We keep going. I also want to write at least 5 more pages for the script. ( my day job got really busy this week so writing time is limited - I’ve booked Friday off to write 🤭🤣. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day 🤩
Tuesday Coaching - 10 a.m. PST - Drop Your Pages Below
Meant to put this up earlier, but it's been a week! Zoom: Premier Coaching - Tuesday 10 a.m. Pacific time Last week was packed too, and we met several new members, including @Temycka Carpenter Carlton who brought pages in for the first time and got a wonderful reception for her very sleekly written female-driven pilot about the secret world of private aviation. She's taking expertise from her own life and converting it to compelling characters in a fantastic setting, the feels fresh and exciting to explore. There's a lot of talk about "world building" in film and tv writing, and her example of how to open a script was a perfect example of efficient, visual world building, that doesn't beat the reader over the head with excessive detail. Looking forward to seeing compelling work from more new writers, who will be welcomed by the veterans around here with open arms, just as Temycka was. When I see the lights go on in someone's eyes like it did with her and @Chris Dyer and @Chad Desrochers and @Lena Lieuvin @Godfrey Virgile and @Krystel Biasotti when they come in for their first reads, it's just exciting for me personally, and makes all the work that goes into this feel deeply worthwhile! So, thanks to all of you for bravely showing up! Looking forward to more! -D

Heya guys. I’m going to have to listen in today! I thought I left my iPad on charge but I didn’t switch it on at the plug 🫣 meaning I have little battery. It should last but il Keep the camera and mic off to try and save it for the whole Call. 🫣🫣🫣

It’s an old iPad which means it’s temperamental 🤭
Super Bowl Predictions and lessons from The Goat, TB12... and how it applies to yours truly.
Love the idea of the Pats starting yet another much-hated dynasty. But also love me some Sam Darnold come back story. So I'll be good however this game goes. Predictions: Pats. Crucial mistake cost Darnold in the 4th Quarter. Situational football rules the day. But... this takes me back to The Goat, TB12. And the horrible start vs Atlanta, years ago. They fell behind 28-3, before storming back and winning in overtime. And maybe nothing looked worse than when Brady threw a pick 6 when they were down 14, to let the score go to 21-0. But he gathered himself and his team. "Come on now, laser focus! We gotta play harder! Tougher!" And led the greatest comeback in sports history. I've often felt this way when battling a script. Trying to figure out the way forward. Feeling lost, but knowing it's not in my DNA to give up and being determined to fight my way through. I genuinely look to Brady as a model for that. Selected 199th in the draft. 4th quarterback on the roster, behind the first QB ever to sign a $100M contract. But showing up everyday in practice and staying late, with the mentality that this would be his team one day and his work ethic would make that inevitable. I'm curious, who's your model for the way you work, for how you move forward when things get tough? Oh, and what's your pick? I'm going 27-24 Pats. Vrabel's got this team dialed in. I could be wrong, but even if I am, with the mentality Brady set down for that organization, even a loss will be a learning experience on their way back to greatness IMHO. Then again, I'm the same guy who was at a huge Super Bowl party years ago and everybody was making fun of me when the Pats were down 28-3. And I said, we've got them right where we want them. Then I might have turned around and flipped them all a double bird when the Pats won. I'm not saying I did. But I'm not saying I didn't either. Go Pats!

i know nothing about football in the USA as it’s much different to ours. But I love Brady’s mentality. ( and the half time shows if I manage to stay awake til 4am ) I kind of turn into Monica from friends when I work. And in competition with my self. Want to keep doing better. And learn as much as I can. Then apply. 🤭
