How to Avoid ADHD Burnout & Procrastination
A new member, @Ced Digital, just made a very heart-felt request for help around ADHD burnout and procrastination. Seeing as this is something that many of us struggle with, I went into great detail around burnout, procrastination, and the two key motivators for getting yourself to do something if you have ADHD. You can check out the video below, where I discuss: 1. The two major ways ADHD brains find motivation for tackling tasks 2. How shame leads to burnout (and how to avoid it) 3. Why your business might feel like a chore and be difficult to execute on 4. And a bit more - all in 12 minutes! Oh, and just for funsies, I had ChatGPT fact-check me on this video so I wasn't misleading anyone. Here's what it had to say, if you're curious. (TLDR; it is all factually correct, if some bits are a little oversimplified) BTW, these are the kinds of things we help our clients with in the Focus Founders Accelerator. If you are an ADHD entrepreneur who would like help healing your nervous system, building systems that work with your brain, understanding why burnout happens, and how to build a business that aligns with your joys and feels REALLY GOOD to build, then book a call with Rex to discuss joining. You'll get to join many amazing souls like @Amber Kay, @Brian Diep, @Rainbow Bird de Soliris, @G. S., @Ori Apkon, @Mahedi Kaiser, @Sebastian Schroeder, and more! I'd love to hear from you - does this video resonate? Would you like to see more content like this? How do YOU experience and handle burnout/procrastination? Drop dem comments baybeeeeeee

Wow! @Bill Widmer Thank you a thousand times again. You’re an incredible person, I definitely want you in my life hahaha. Thank you for taking the time to care for me and for truly understanding my problem. You helped me realize some really big things. I’m happy that this allowed you to help even more people who are going through the same thing as me. Thank you again.

@Bill Widmer Haha yeah, it’s pretty simple. I’m looking for the miracle solution that will finally make my brain understand how to start a task and get past my mental block. It’s really not easy. I’m trying to find the thing that will help me actually begin. THE THING.

Most productivity tools ask you to "push through." But if you have ADHD, "pushing" usually just leads to paralysis. I realized that being stuck usually comes in three flavors. So I built Decision Barista—an AI companion that doesn't judge you; it just adjusts to your energy level. The Menu (Chef's Choice): 🍵 Matcha Mode: You are frozen/anxious. We take small, compassionate steps. ☕ Espresso Mode: You are overthinking. We set a ruthlessly short timer. 🫐 Berry Mode: You are bored. We gamify the task to hack your dopamine. The Honor Bar (The Threshold): Standard marketing says I should force you to give me your email to see this. I refuse. If you are overwhelmed, you don't need a funnel. You need relief. - No Signup. - No Email. - Just the tool. 👉 Click the link to enter the Honor Bar. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1N1jVQ--GxBS4OnZFHBrV5SxX2DC5ybwjjmVW4kh9Y_Q/edit?usp=sharing Let's check the community pulse: Which flavor do you need this morning? Drop a 🍵, ☕, or 🫐 below. THANKS @Rex Loyer and @Bill Widmer for all your amazing support and feedback! P.S. - I'm in meetings most of today but will check back this evening to see how it's landing.

TDAH Problems
Hi everyone! I’m new here! Finally, a community for ADHD people around the world. I’ve read a lot of your posts, and it really made me want to open up too. I have ADHD, predominantly inattentive type, and it’s really difficult. I’m 33 years old and I’m medicated. Here’s my problem: I really struggle to take action. I have a lot of ambition and talent, but every single day it’s incredibly hard just to start doing what I know I need to do. I’m an entrepreneur and I run a small funnel-building design business. And honestly, it’s complex just to follow my own system. I procrastinate a lot, I’m anxious, and I struggle to take action. Sometimes I get a boost of focus and end up cleaning or doing other things, but never the right things. I genuinely struggle with this. Even with medication, it doesn’t really change anything… yes, I feel more intense focus, but I still have trouble taking action. It’s like my brain only wants to work when I’m in danger, for example when there are client deadlines and pressure. Does anyone experience the same thing and can guide me? It would be amazing to hear from other people with ADHD who are trying to run their own business and have been through the same thing. Otherwise, I wish you all a great day 😊

@Bill Widmer Now the question I have in my mind, after reflecting on your video feedback, is this: despite my blockage when it comes to starting the things I need to do (sorry, I’m still saying it that way so we understand each other), how can I break that blockage and actually DO what I have to do? I understand that I can set timers and allow myself breaks, but how do I start taking action when it’s necessary? It’s like I’m paralyzed, and despite my good intentions, nothing moves.
The ADHD Reset
When I was fIrst diagnosed with Adhd, I was heavy into burnout and saw no way forward but I knew one thing: I was desperate for relief and didn't know what to do. So I turned to one more psychiatrist. An emergency care providor at that, and FINALLY SOMEONE SAW WHAT NO ONE ELSE HAD YET! And I finally had an answer of where to dig deep. At 32, I learned I am Autusitic with Combined Type Adhd. I spents hours a day for weeks taking in everything I could. I was familiar with inatentive ADHD in children thanks to my daughter but I had no idea how many different ways there were that ADHD could show up in different people or that there was even a third type...the combined type. I didnt know that Hyperactive ADHD shows up differently in women than it does in men or that most women have the inattentive type and that women with any type struggle for years with improper diagnoses. Cue me giving the middle finger to every mis-informed psych that told me I was bipolar, unreliable, neurotic, had borderline personality disorder, OCD, GAD, SAD, or MDD. The end result of all this research? A huge influx of self worth for 1, but also a field guide for anyone else who may be navigating similar terrain. A field guide to help the ADHD person of any type to process through burnout and start working WITH their brain rather than against it. And now, that field guide is yours.

This document you created is truly incredible.I have ADHD, primarily the inattentive type, with some hyperactivity symptoms, and I experience it very intensely. Your document put me on a path to finally achieve something concrete. My main problem is the block I feel when starting something. I’m an entrepreneur, and I struggle a lot with taking action. The Gentle Incline Method you created is something that truly inspires me. I’m starting it today.
