Truffles
I hesitate to post dessert-like recipes. I hope these don’t trigger anyone. If they do, then let me know. These are decadent. Not sure they qualify as protein balls. I would recommend them for sharing. 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp cream cheese 1/4 cup allulose, erythritol or monk fruit sweetener (or whatever zero carb sweetener you like) 2 tbsp maca powder (or cocoa powder for chocolate) 1 tsp coconut milk (or your preference) 1tsp vanilla extract Mix together with a hand blender, or whatever tool you can muster. Mix until smooth, then refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Make 8 balls. Place back in the fridge. If you want to be fancy, then you can drizzle with chocolate sauce. 1/4 cup whipping cream 2 tbsp sweetener or equivalent of liquid Stevia 1 tbsp of finely chopped unsweetened chocolate 1 teaspoon vanilla Drizzle chocolate over each ball with a spoon. Serve chilled. Keep in the fridge for up to four days. Watch your macros! 123 calories per ball 10g fat 2g protein 4g carbs 2g fibre Recipe inspired by Maria Emmerich’s Malted Milk Truffle Balls

Do you feel like the maca powder is overpowering? I use it in my collagen drink, but I find it really strong!
Breakfast
This is a daily routine at our house. Who ever gets up first heats the oven and puts in the bacon. We eat 375-500 grams of bacon between three of us every morning. Often there are eggs involved. My husband eats three eggs and six pieces of bacon every day.

Have you ever tried Dr. Berry's "cook it in a deep pot on the stovetop" method? We make a bunch of it that way ever few days - it stays crispy even after being refrigerated and reheated! https://youtu.be/dGAMWj4G2kE?si=nT9Vrzxj77DscIYQ

@Lauren Baetz Oh my gosh that is so true! Our way of "celebrating" anything (last day of school, got our taxes done, lost weight (🫣) is to go out to eat!

@Lauren Baetz Absolutely! I'm a huge burger fan and I don't miss those buns! ;-) And I'm focusing on eating the best parts FIRST, not saving them for last. That way I can just be done when I'm done and not feel like I need to keep eating bc I have the "good part" to get to!
Boundaries
I notice that a lot of diet and lifestyles include phrases like, "without having to restrict yourself". I find this ironic, because we need boundaries in all areas of our life. I'm sure that each one of them have various levels of restriction. I'm going to be truthful here. If you have goals, then you have to restrict yourself. It might be in the area of food, but it might be in another area. Time, for example, I have to restrict the amount of time I spend watching TV, or even on skool. If I don't, then other things get done. Add in the comments an area of life that you need to set boundaries. It can be big or small; sugar restriction, TV restriction, bread, TikTok, alcohol? Set a goal for yourself to notice where you find it easy to set boundaries and where it is difficult. It begins in the mind.

That's an awesome reminder! Can you imagine saying, "Learn how to watch TikTok without having to restrict yourself!" 😂
Welcome!

Thanks! I'm excited to be here! I already mentioned it in the other welcome post, but basically I'm looking for ways to stay on track now that I have no set schedule in my life! 🫣
