Why events build trust faster than any post ever will
Most Skool community owners treat events as optional extras. Something to run when they've got time, after the content's done and the community's ticking along. That's the wrong way to think about it. Think of a post like a letter dropped through someone's door. They might read it, they might not. But an event is an invitation to sit down at the same table. The trust built in one live session can take weeks of posting to replicate, because people experience what you know in real time, not just read about it. There's a second dimension to this that most people miss entirely. Presenting inside other people's communities puts you in front of a warm, qualified audience who already trust the host. Done right, a single guest session can bring more new members into your community than a month of content. I'm covering both of these properly in a free live session on Thursday, 18th June at 8 pm BST, inside the Skool Events Daily community, which is worth joining in its own right if you want your events seen by more than just your own members. 100% !! I've never created a client through a post. It's always been through connection. Thanks for this Des.
Conversations that lead to $20k months
At 10am eastern I'm hosting a Conversations that Convert masterclass. This isn't an event of "but wait, there's more." It's not a "how to make an offer stack," either. It's connecting to who you truly are and the transformation you co-create with your clients. THIS is the only way I've ever enrolled high ticket clients. It's never been from a post. From a reel (probably because I've never posted one). From a blog (because I had one for three minutes and left it). And it was never from a podcast... although I really feel like I want one of these but that's off topic. So... today at 11am ET you can jump in here and learn the secret to how to create 20k months. If you want to join my community, The ShiftShow you can do that here. AND, if you want to grab a free 45 minute Pattern Interrupt private coaching session with me, you can do that too. Disclaimer: this isn't a coaching call disguised as an enrolment call because those are gross. This is a genuine, full-on let's-find-at-least-one-of-your-patterns-so-you-can-get-out-of-your-own-bullshit call. See you at 11am. xo

It’s only weird if you make it weird
I've been in sales since I was 14. I would upsell people on starch for their shirts when I worked for a dry cleaner. I never loved it. Just asking, "would you like starch?" felt like I was asking them if they wanted to go out with me. From there it was retail, "are you looking for something in particular?" (insert David Schitt here) Then upselling soup or dessert when I was a waitress. And, from there it was pewter (yup, the metal), directory sales which was painful, and finally advertising for a magazine group. Selling never came naturally to me. After decades of being in it for-a-liviiiing you'd think I would be a master at it. Nope. People can try to sell me, "but wait there's more" tactics all day long, and offer stacks, but here's what I know. I've never been excited about an offer stack. I've never been excited about someone saying, "for the next hour this is the price. After that, it's 4 trillion dollars." Put up your hand if this is you too. People make sales conversations gross and weird and they don't need to be. Once you understand what a true enrolment conversation looks like, you won't WANT to have it any other way. I'm doing a free masterclass for this exact thing. 80% of the people I have a conversation with about my work and what they're looking for end up becoming one of my clients. Here's the secret... BECAUSE I NEVER SOLD THEM. Yes, I'm yelling it. There's coaches, creators, entrepreneurs who wish they could just learn how to close people. How to have the right kind of sales conversations. The right words, at the right time, in the right order. What if that wasn't how it's done anymore? The other day I was watching someone sell from the stage (so to speak) and it was so gross. The person was lovely. But how they were offering it was soooo 2014. People are so much more discerning (thank freaking god) than they were then. Back then you could put out a time limit and I would be the first one with my credit card out because I wanted the bonus.
