You Thought Wrong... 🤯 (or did you?)
You ever met someone you thought had it all figured out, then hung around them long enough to spot every flaw? Yeah. Same goes for you. Same goes for me. Same goes for every player you've ever put up on a pedestal. Most guitar players are stuck on what they don't know. There's always another scale. Another technique. Another guy on YouTube who clearly came out of the womb shredding. So we tell ourselves a story... "Something's being gate kept from me. If I could just find the right skill, I'd finally sound like I want to sound." Then we back it up with a second one. "They figured it out... So can I. I don't need anyone else's lessons. I want to play like ME. Not some icon who already figured it out." Both can be true. Both can also be the exact thing keeping you stuck. Here's what I actually think: You probably already know enough. You're probably way better than you give yourself credit for. And yeah, you can teach yourself to play in your own voice... even if your sense of melody is rough right now. There's a hundred reasons you're right and the world is wrong. But here's the part most people skip... The world is going to keep pushing back on you. And honestly? It should. The real SECRET isn't more knowledge. It's different PERSPECTIVE. So here's what's worth sitting with: Take some real time to consider this... What's a playing-practice you haven't actually challenged in a long time? [These could be limiting beliefs or current practice habits in general] Examples: I can't know every scale ever... I mostly play without my pinky because it's not strong enough. I can't create new stuff, so I just play songs I've heard before. My fingers aren't fast enough. I'll never learn how to play smooth or know where to play on the fretboard at all times, so I may as well just play whatever comes to mind (which is the same thing every time) Drop it in the comments. Let's get dig into the old perspective and why it isn't working anymore.

Its.......Wins-day!
Hey everyone! Happy Wins-day! So what's everyone been working on this past week? Have you been chopping it up on scales? Chord changes? The Riff of the Week? Post it here!!!! I want to see you play!!!! "Hello, Hello, Hello...Is there anybody out there....!?" I've been working on more lessons for our classroom section and the next one should be dropping soon (so keep your eyes peeled here). As a result, I don't think I've practiced much of anything this week, ugh! That doesn't mean I haven't been playing though! I've been messing around with this little ditty for a bit and throwing riffs at it to see what sticks (a tried and true method I'm sure). Mentally, I think I've found a place for this one finally! I'd call that a win every time!\ Hope everyone is having a fantastic week! I'm off to take the dogs for a walk and then get back to it! Cheers everybody! -Ben P.S. Having two dogs, means the dog hair is real, and its always a problem haha!

@Larry Cannon good news! This means you're human 🤓 it also means you're someone who's willing to make an effort and that's the sort of person that can really transform their guitar journey. I'm just glad we have you here diving into everything you get your hands on! Thanks Larry

Here's your Tip of the Week, crew 👇 Move on the good stuff the moment it drops. Every lesson, every practice exercise, every riff we post inside this community has one purpose - to make you a better player, faster. But here's the thing: The players who level up the quickest aren't the ones who bookmark stuff "for later." They're the ones who jump in while it's hot. So here's your move this week: 🎸 Hit every FREE lesson. Don't skip 'em, don't save 'em for a rainy day. The value is sitting right there waiting for you. Start with the newest one right here: 👉 Newest Video (FREE) 🔥 Run through the practice exercises. Reading about playing won't move the needle. Picking up the guitar and actually doing the reps will. 🤘 And if you're not officially part of the crew yet - there's a fix for that. This community is where the real growth happens. You'll get the lessons, the feedback, the accountability, and a group of players who actually show up for each other. 👉 Join Us Here The opportunity is right in front of you. Grab it. See you inside. 🎸 https://www.skool.com/intermediate-guitar/classroom/4f74be2f?md=3c6542bbb6584350ac9fe03e03f3599f

Chord Progression Of The Week Time!
So you folks have got me this week! I'm a huge fan of modal interchange and this week is no exception, though I will try to not have it be an always thing. If you don't know what modal interchange is, it's when a chord progression changes keys, and it is great for when you are learning how to follow chord changes in your lead playing. This week's chords are- Dm7 - Bm7 - B♭maj7 - Gmaj7 Don't worry if you don't know these chords, I'll show you how to play them in the video. Over the Dm7, Bm7, and B♭maj7, you can play D natural minor or stick with D pentatonic minor. Once we get to the Gmaj7, then we will shift over to G major. Take a look and a listen and keep an eye out for @Mike Abalos's riff and chord progressions of the week. He will most definitely have a different "flavor" than I do. Let us know what you want to hear as well (ex. more major, more minor, more modal interchange, more riff based...etc.)! I hope everyone has a fantastic, musical weekend and I'll be around if anyone has any questions or comments! Toodles, Ben
