Listen to the best bansuri flute! ๐ต To inform your improvising
I've now had a Pandora account for over 20 years! What I love about Pandora is that you can put in a song you like, and then it makes an educated guess as to which music you'll like and it plays those songs. When you ๐or๐a track it gets even better at guessing! One of my favorite stations is Om Namo Bhagavate Radio. Sometimes these radical flute solos come on and I just love it! But usually I am so in the flow when I'm listening that I never think, "who's playing that flute? I want to listen to this again!" Tonight I noticed this song with some really awesome flute and paused to take note for you!! So awesome that I made a new category of posts here: ๐Listening List๐ผ! This is for sharing recordings of your favorite flutists... Help me fill it with videos of your favorite performances & performers! Don't forget to tell us why you love it. โบ๏ธ I'm pretty sure this is Manose Singh playing flute on this recording! What I love about it: ๐ช The flute is really subtle in the beginning... low & slow. I love this texture. ๐ช The flute is the perfect compliment to the voices. I feel like the voice is there representing the spirit of the wind, like some mythical creature like a faerie, or an earthly flying creature like a dragonfly or butterfly. ๐ช I love how "free" the flute feels in the solo time & garnish time. Free-flowing, unencumbered... I envy this level of freedom and try to emulate it in my own playing! ๐ฎ I'm jealous of those pitch bends! ๐ท Have you ever tried playing a bansuri flute? What did you learn about flute from the experience? PS - Join me on Monday nights after improv games for some fluting with songs not too different from this one and don't forget to share & read your most heart-warming flute moments in the January Intros Contest
