2025 Christmas Booklist
Okay so, during my 2025 Yuletide season (November 30th - December 25th) I was hell bent on reading as many books as possible and I'm pleased to report that the total amount of books I read was 6. 1. Savile Row - James Sherwood (10/10: Read in April this year) 2. In Our Time and other Stories - Ernest Hemingway (9/10) 3. Killer in the Rain and other Stories - Raymond Chandler (10/10) 4. A Christmas Carol - Charles Dickens (11/10) 5. The Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemingway (12/10) 6. A Farewell to Arms - Ernest Hemingway (12/10) 7. Bushido: The Soul of Japan - Inazō Nitobe (12/10) Ernest Hemingway has become my favourite author of all time and Raymond Chandler my second favourite author of all time respectively. It feels good to be back reading on a regular basis. I have about 5-6 Hemingway books, 1 Raymond Chandler book and possibly 1-2 philosophy books lined up ready to read in 2026.

@Al Voss Well, respectfully I find keeping mental notes is more efficent for the most part. I do write things down when needed, but in this instance where I can refer back to your original comment for reference if I do forget, I choose to stimulate my brain by making mental notes.

Western Aesthetic Inspirations
Earlier I asked what were your gangster/mafia aesthetic inspirations, now I ask the esteemed Gentlemen who (like me) love the Western aesthetic. If someone was to approach you and ask for any inspirations for creating elegant Western outfits what Films, TV Shows and/or Video Games would you refer to that man? I'll start: 1883, The Dollars Trilogy, Tombstone, Deadwood, Yellowstone, Territory, Justified and Horizon: An American Saga.
Gangster/Mafia Aesthetic Inspirations
I ask the esteemed Gentlemen who (like me) love the Gangster/Mafia fashion aesthetic. If someone was to approach you and ask for any inspirations for creating elegant Gangster/Mafia outfits, what Films, TV Shows and/or Video Games would you refer to that man? I'll start: The Outfit, Peaky Blinders, The Gentlemen (film), The Gentlemen (tv show), Goodfellas, The Godfather, The Godfather Pt. II and The Sopranos.

@David Zandar I agree that the Peaky Blinders in the show had fantastic wardrobes, the same can be said about The Gentlemen film & TV show. I haven’t seen season 2 of Landman yet, so I look forward to seeing this character in action. I agree with your assessment of Pierce Brosnan’s outfits in Mobland, but the show’s wardrobe overall was extremely disappointing and name dropping the Tulsa King was an interesting yet inspired choice.

@David Zandar Yeah, I suppose. Look I can excuse Mobland as it's a great show, in fact any show that has a great story always gets a free pass from me when it comes to wardrobe.
Banjo Shout Out
@Banjo Piggott Wright is one of our newest Members. This Shout-out is because he's done so much with his own initiative to enjoy the Society. First, a rapid introduction. Second, immediately reading and Commenting on other's Posts. But most importantly, he has gone into the archives and resurrected older but interesting Posts. If we had a "Best New Member of the Month" the Banjo would pic his way to the top. Thanks
