“Love is the bridge between you and everything.”
— Rumi
When I was younger, I used to listen to the song “Testify to Love” all the time. I always believed it carried a really powerful message about kindness, acceptance, and the way love can bring people together.
Monday, I heard the newly re-released version by Ty Herndon and Michael Passons, and learning more of the story behind it gave the song even more meaning for me. Michael Passons was one of the original voices behind the song, and after years of feeling excluded for simply being who he is, hearing this version centered around inclusion and love feels important right now.
It made me think about how much people carry silently. How often someone may just need a smile, a kind word, a little patience, or a moment of understanding instead of judgment.
Science backs this up too. Studies show that small acts of kindness increase serotonin, oxytocin, and dopamine — not only for the person receiving kindness, but also for the person giving it. Compassion literally helps calm the nervous system and creates stronger feelings of connection and safety.
Maybe the world doesn’t need all of us to agree on everything.Maybe it just needs us to remember that people are human first.
🌈 Today’s gentle challenge:Listen to the words to this song .....
Do one small thing that makes someone feel seen, included, or cared for.
A text.
A compliment.
An invitation.
A little extra patience.
Sometimes the smallest acts become the biggest turning points in someone’s day.
Today's challenge, Testify to Love 😀🌈
