Sweet Vindication ☝️🤓 … now, Determination
For years I was told to specialize
Idk how many times I heard the old adage “Jack of all trades, master of none”
A moment of mild -vindication came once someone enlightened me on the fact that the actual metaphor went:
“Jack of all trades, master of ONE”
This made sense. Gain a wide range of skills but go deep in one.
I believe it was Ryan Deiss who I first heard speaking about the “T” shaped marketing skillset — more confirmation of the “Jack of all trades” reframe.
Another star in my sky came after I first listened to the E-Myth audio book many years ago.
The author described a relatable journey of jumping from thing to thing, picking up skills along the way until one day he found THE thing that validated his entire journey and finally made him a success.
The REAL moment of Validation/Vindication/VigourousVascularVibration 💗
came while reading ’s book Hired.
I have no intention of hiring a EA but I started reading it to learn what makes a good one. As Kasim described what to look for, where to look and the kind of mindset to expect from Pareto Talent, I couldn’t help but feel joy.
I finally figured out where these winding, intertwined, unbeaten paths have been leading me all these years.
As serendipity would have it I recently made a pitch to an entrepreneur, who’s program I’m taking, to essentially be their EA, but I had no idea that this was what it was called or what the actual extent of the role was.
Now I’ve resolved to pursue this with intention. It’ll take time but I have the resources here to guide me.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading my story ❤️
