#9 Session Of The Week
Members will get this session straight into their inbox You know the type. Great in training, confident when you're winning, but the moment the pressure builds or the opposition gets physical, they disappear. The Problem: Players avoid the ball when the game gets intense, stop making runs, and let teammates carry the burden instead of stepping up when the team needs them most. The Session That Fixes It: 1 Setup, 4 Outcomes (especially Game 3) Exercise taken from the 328 Football Training Sessions resource

Nothing's more frustrating than watching an excellent attack break down because your player can't bring down a simple high ball. They either let high balls bounce off them, or they panic and swing wildly instead of controlling the ball properly. So this week, I've got a whole session to help players. The Session That Fixes It: Control From Air and Finish Goal: Improve players' ability to control aerial balls using wedge and cushion techniques, link with teammates, and finish under pressure. Try this session and watch your players become confident with any ball that comes from the air. Exercise taken from the 328 Football Training Sessions resource

Problem Solver Series #7: Players Who Panic Under Pressure Members will get this session straight into their inbox Do you have players who rush their decisions, take heavy touches, and give the ball away the second they feel pressure? In this game, there is a consequence to giving the ball away, but in a way that is fun and enjoyable. This allows players to build their confidence with pressure. Problem Solver Series #5: Teams That Bunch Up Like Magnets Members will get this session straight into their inbox I am making an effort to share a session a week 😎 Week 6 is here! How did last week go? Thanks to everyone who hit reply to give me feedback on the session I sent you. "My players won't use both feet" is another common complaint I receive from coaches. So, what's the problem? Well, being one-footed is a technical limitation that will lead to technical errors in adult football. Players need to be encouraged to use both feet. So, the session below really encourages them to do so through the rules of the game. I've used it hundreds of times, and it works!p.s. If you don't have 4 goals, use cone gates. Adapt and overcome! Exercise taken from the 328 Football Training Sessions resource

Problem Solver Series #5: Teams That Bunch Up Like Magnets Members will get this session straight into their inbox I am making an effort to share a session a week 😎 Week 5 is here! We've finished with the foundation session series, so now we're going to move to our problem solver series. This series will explore common youth football problems that coaches send me. "My team is forever bunching" is something I hear often. So, how to fix it? For me, you play small-sided games, and you reward the players who avoid bunching and spread out The session below encourages players to switch the ball often and gives the coach a chance to talk about the width and depth football principles. p.s. If you don't have 8 goals, use 4. Alternatively, use cone gates. Adapt and overcome! Exercise taken from the 328 Football Training Sessions resource
