Setup on Windows 11, not an easy ride
Hey, fam.
I'm on the first technical step, and I thought I'd provide some feedback.
Before I signed up for ZeroOne, I already had the Claude desktop app installed on Windows 11. As you probably know, the app provides three tabs - Chat, Cowork, & Code - which give easy access to the corresponding Claude facets.
Since the app was installed on Windows, I was a bit confused about how the Code part of the app would connect to WSL, which was also installed prior to ZeroOne, and which is a separate operating system. So I asked Claude for clarification, and luckily the confusion cleared up. Once you download and install Cursor and establish a connection to WSL, you run "npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code", and that installs a separate Claude Code component inside WSL that can be used with the same Pro plan. That works independently from the Claude Code installed on Windows 11.
The issue I'm having now is with authentication. The "claude auth login" command wasn't returning a link that I could copy to an external browser and continue from there. So I tried the API Key and Subscription Token alternatives and then my credits ran out. (Ugh!)
I don't know what it's like for Mac, but setup for Windows 11 wasn't all that smooth for me.
