You know what just hit me as we’re heading to this morning to Aspire tour networking event? Our second session with Marichel and Yonnick about first impressions.
And now I’m sitting here thinking…How can we show up in a way that people remember us, not just today, but long after we’ve left the room?
They say "First impression is the last impression." And honestly? They’re not wrong. So here’s what I’m keeping in mind today and every time I step into a room:
- Enter with intention — Walk in tall, calm smile, grounded energy.
- Genuine eye contact + smile — Say with your presence: “I’m here. Fully.”
- Talk that matters — Mention something real. Be curious. Connect.
- Mirror their energy — Match their vibe. People remember how you made them feel.
- Speak with purpose — Drop one core value that defines you. Let them feel who you are.
- Leave a hook — “Let’s definitely pick this back up — I’d love to hear more.
- Exit like you entered — Calm. Confident. Intentional, with a smile.
Addtional tips:– Subtle scent, sharp fit, solid handshake. Be present, not perfect.
People might forget what you said, but they never forget your energy.
